Washington’s Lady by Nancy Moser

This week, theChristian Fiction Blog Allianceis introducing Washington’s Lady(Bethany House June 1, 2008)byNancy MoserI definitely support Nancy Moser, but sadly this book never arrived. I still cannot wait to get my hands on it though! (Also, for many of the upcoming CFBA books did not arrive, some list error! But never fear I will get them and read them eventually and send a review your way…) What I can tell you is that I have read one of Nancy’s historical woman books… none other than Jane Austen! Just Jane was a very fun read. This is what I had to say about it: (Previous blog post) Jane Austen of course is legend to us today. Although I have heard some historical discrepancies from one or two things in this novel of her life, I really see this as a depiction that is the most true to how I see Jane’s. . .

Missionary in Tectitan

I wanted to share this from my husband’s cousin: Dear Friends and Family, We need your prayers always, but especially now! Things in Tectitán are becoming heated with discussion of mining. There have been several community meetings in town, a petition has been signed against selling land to mining prospectors, rumors are being spread about our involvement in bringing minors into the area and providing them land to base on, a Peace Corp volunteer is suspected to be involved directly in the mining… In our last prayer letter we enthusiastically wrote about the land that we were in the process of purchasing with the hope of building a community center for the Tektitek people in the future. But now people are spreading rumors that the reason we want to buy the land is provide a base for peole that will be coming to do miniing here in Tectitán. Pray that. . .
