The Voice™ is the product of the best minds in this emerging generation of Christian leaders. Together they are helping young people fall in love with the Scriptures. Instead of confining God’s Word in the framework of biblical criticism, The Voice™ highlights the beauty of God’s communication to His people. In The Voice™, the voice of God is heard as clearly as when He first revealed His truth. This is the first-ever complete New Testament in The Voice™ translation. Writers include Chris Seay, Lauren Winner, Brian McLaren, Greg Garrett, David B. Capes, and others.

Every time I pick up my copy of The Voice New Testament I uncover something new and enlightening. It seems that passages of the Bible that I have read many times over are brought down to me in a conversational tone. This is a daily reading Bible for me, and one that I keep in my Bible bag to reference to during church. Although not my main study Bible, I really love my The Voice New Testament. I highly recommend it for an addition to anyone’s Bible library. This is the first-ever complete New Testament in The Voice™ translation.  It is a great place to go for worship within the pages of the New Testament to continue a dialogue with the scripture and get just a little bit more out of it. “The goal is to create the finest Bible products to help believers experience the joy and wonder of God’s revelation. ” I fully think that the team behind The Voice New Testament at Thomas Nelson accomplished their goal. The Voice is a different kind of New Testament, but it is indeed “faithful and fresh”.

My copy is trade paperback, but there is a flexible cloth/leather edition available as well as a designer cloth edition with wild colors. Reading through the scriptures with The Voice is a different experience. I can keep going and become swallowed in the pages much like a novel where as sometimes with my other Bible translations I become bogged down and distracted with the depth and historic writing. Here the scriptures are intact and the message is clear, but there is just a hint or reality to it that makes things easier and more applicable in a way. I love this translation and personally cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of The Voice of Psalms.

Features include:

  • Bronze, highlighted text
  • Screenplay-like format, ideal for public readings and group studies
  • Devotional commentary
  • Book introductions

  1. It sounds like an interesting project. I would have my doubts about it’s reliability however, since Brian McLaren is involved. He is deceiving a great many people and should not be trusted.
