MoBoleez Nursing Bonnets

Introducing “MoBoleez” – the world’s first breastfeeding hat!

What’s a breastfeeding hat?
A breastfeeding hat is based on a simple, fun idea. The idea? Design a hat just for the breastfeeding baby, with a tiny little head and great big brim. The wide brim offers a little privacy for mom, and cuts out distractions for baby. The fun? Super soft, all natural fabrics, baby-friendly colours, and delightful illustrations for the top of the head (visible when breastfeeding of course!) And, when moms lift up the brim, there’s a little message from baby!

Beautifully made, eco-friendly, and cute as a button, MoBoleez represents a brand new product category for retailers.
What’s MoBoleez?
MoBoleez , “Modern Bonnets for Breastfeeding Babes”, is a Canadian company founded in 2006 by Diane Sam, a nursing, working mother of two. MoBoleez is a baby products company focused on supporting and celebrating the breastfeeding mum. MoBoleez recently launched their breastfeeding hats across North America.
Who’s Diane Sam, and how did MoBoleez start?
Diane Sam, Owner and Founder, is a working mother to two sons, Elijah (3) and James (1). A graduate of the University of British Columbia (B.Sc) and Trinity Western University (MA) in Psychology, she has been an entrepreneur for 15 years, in the area of technology and small business consulting.
Never quite happy in the corporate world, Diane has been a passionate supporter of small business as a means to achieve financial and personal freedom, and make a difference in the world. After having two babies in just over two years, she was looking for a way to combine her passion for motherhood with her love of business.

Passionate Breastfeeding Advocate and Mom-preneur Invents a Breastfeeding Hat! Diane Sam is passionate about breastfeeding. So passionate in fact, she invented the world’s first breastfeeding hat, a unique product that combines style and fun with a practical purpose. MoBoleez™ hats, are designed for breastfeeding, with a little head for baby and a big floppy brim that covers the mom’s breast. The hats come in a variety of fun designs, fashionable prints and colours, and help moms “cover the breast, not the breastfeeding”. Diane is a passionate breastfeeding advocate who wants new moms to feel powerful and confident when breastfeeding. She invented the breastfeeding hat to help new moms overcome one of the “booby traps” that prevent them from starting or continuing breastfeeding. She believes moms should “Go Anywhere. Feel Confident. Breastfeed your Baby.” – anytime, anywhere and for as long as they want (ask her about still breastfeeding her 4 yr old!)

As a breastfeeding mother, I am always seeking out another way to cover up just enough that I don’t have to hightail it to a corner when it’s snack time… *Thanks to ChicExecs and MoBoleez I was able to review a bonnet from their new Couture Collection Tropical Tiles.*

I’ve tried in the past to just use a blanket and because AppleBlossom is such a babbie snuggler, she will rip a blanket off her head and into her arms. With the MoBoleez, she can have her babbie in her arms, and the hat will be on her head and I am saved the grace of needing more hands to control everything and remain covered up as well as relaxed enough for a let-down. And that makes everyone more happy and successful.

In looking at all their designs I personally love the Au Lait S’il Vous Plait from the Classic Collection, so cute! Whether your style is bright and vibrant or calm and soothing there is a MoBoleez for your mama. A great thing about MoBoleez is their packaging. Each bonnet comes in a reusable zippered vinyl bag that is cute, sophisticated and practical. It is great to store anything in, including the hat and fits very nicely in a diaper bag.

Our Tropical Tiles hat itself is so soft! Super soft, breathable 95% cotton, 5% spandex jersey knit – it is a nice solid weight, like a high fashion t-shirt material, double layered. And then my favorite part, machine washable. 😉

Sizing: The hats currently are available in two sizes 0-6 months (16″ head circumference), and 6-12 months (19″). The difference in the sizes is the head circumference and not the brim. If I could change anything, it would be that the brim was a little bit wider for a slight more coverage, but the way it is works to. It’s just the amount of coverage that I am used to.
