12 month Doctor Well Visit

My baby girl is 12 months and one week old. *sigh* She’s an itty bitty thing, and the doctor says we’ll have to watch that, but otherwise she’s healthy. In the last day or so she has been more interested in attempting to “bite” the sippy cup and get a little milk from it, but otherwise, she’s still nursing 100%. She nurses on-demand, which can be anywhere from three times during the day to ten times during the day and once or twice at night. We’re trying all sorts of new foods, even though for the most part she still refuses to eat meat. She has however found a new love in peas and corn. So we’re trying to go for that more often. It’s apparently even more of a treat when snatched from Daddy’s plate. 😉

So at 16 lbs 8 oz and 27 1/2 inches in height, my AppleBlossom is small, but very cuddly. 🙂

  1. She looks sooooo much like her daddy!!! Well, at least she be able to wear that new, crocheted hoodie for longer 😉

  2. My daughter was under the charts thin, given the annoying label “failure to thrive.” They even ended up testing her for CF and a bunch of other things, plus biweekly weigh-ins. My daughter wouldn’t eat any meats either. End result: she is 5 years old and still thin as a rail. Just her body type. Cheese was a good way for her to get protein.

    • They have not labeled her as of yet, just said we need to watch her. It’s funny to think that “my” child is a tiny one… not that I was a big kid, but not tiny. Yet the Enginerd’s sisters are pretty small.

Cheese huh? I’ll have to figure that one out. I’m not sure she’s actually had cheese yet. We still working on new solids here and there.

  3. She is adorable! My 3 month old grandson weighs 15 lbs already, I think he’s going to be a big boy, but one can never tell for sure. My twin sons were chubby as babies, but they are tall and slender now as grown men. She may still have a major growth spurt, she looks wonderfully healthy and happy so you’re obviously doing everything right.

    • Her cousin who is four months younger than she was something like 22 lbs around March I think. He’s a hefty boy 🙂 She is definitely a happy camper and as my husband pointed out to me last night, with those chubby cheeks she’s obviously not lacking too much, just small all around. 🙂
