The Pumpkin Patch Parable by Liz Curtis Higgs

This charming story for children illustrates how a loving farmer can turn a simple pumpkin into a simply glorious sight. In the same way, God’s transforming love can fill each of our hearts with joy and light. Liz Curtis Higgs created this parable as a way to share the Good News with her own precious children each harvest season . . . and now with children everywhere.

Food, Inc.

Food, Inc. 2008 PG 94 minutes Drawing on Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation and Michael Pollan’s The Omnivore’s Dilemma, director Robert Kenner’s Oscar-nominated documentary explores the food industry’s detrimental effects on our health and environment. Kenner spotlights the men and women who are working to reform an industry rife with monopolies, questionable interpretations of laws and subsidies, political ties and rising rates of E. coli outbreaks. This morning I was clicking through my Instant View on Netflix as saw a documentary called Food, Inc. Since I was working on some posts I decided to let it play in the background. Wow. What a video and close to my heart as I have been trying and struggling a bit since AppleBlossom was born with getting healthy versus saving money. I do remember when I saw a wholistic doctor a few years back talking about the decision on where to spend money. . .

Lassoed in Texas Trilogy by Mary Connealy

Lassoed in Texas Trilogy by Mary Connealy, one of my all-time favorite authors (in addition to MaryLu!) has a great cover leaning strongly toward a similarity in the cover of the first book in the series Petticoat Ranch, but also continues the theme of boots and a great dessert blue sky and orange-tan dirt ground in Calico Canyon and Gingham Mountain. Enjoy the pleasure of owning Mary Connealy’s complete Lassoed in Texas series all under one cover. Bask in laughs and tears as you visit Mosqueros, Texas, a Wild West town in the making, and meet three matchless couples and a passel of children who begin their relationships on rough footing. Will the mountain man rescue the widow and her daughters? Will the prim schoolteacher tame the rancher and his sons? Will the nosy schoolmarm learn to love a rancher and his orphans? Award-winning author Mary Connealy lives in Nebraska. . .

Keep the Pigs out by Don Dickerman {Preview}

Keep Satan OUT of Your Life

Satan has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Every day we give the devil and his demons too much power when, in fact, we already have everything we need to keep them out of our lives.

Just like pigs that come and go through the gates on a fence, demons can only enter and influence our lives if we open the door to them. In Keep the Pigs Out, Don Dickerman tells you how to eliminate the primary gateways that allow demonic activity to get a hold in your life.
