Have you thought about the fact that this year is almost over? Isn’t that hard to believe? I can hardly realize the fact that I have been blogging for almost four years. It’s just baffling to me that it has been that long, but then I guess I do have to realize that my daughter is 16 months old and I was blogging long before ever even knowing I was pregnant. Wow. Next year I am going to try to do things a little differently. I doubt I’ll host the Christian Fiction Christmas Reading Challenge, it’s a great idea, but I just do not seem to have the marketing skills to get people involved. I will continue the Christian Historical Fiction Community at Creative Madness Mama including the CHF Reading Challenge, and hopefully it will be more organized and have more input too… The more people who get involved the. . .
This week, the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance is introducing Emily of Deep Valley Harper Perennial Modern Classics; Reprint edition (October 12, 2010) by Mitali Perkins ABOUT THE AUTHOR: A word from Mitali: Who In The World Is Mitali Perkins? That’s a good question. I’ve been trying to figure it out myself, spending most of my life crossing borders. I was born Mitali Bose in Kolkata (Calcutta), India, and always tried to live up to my name—which means “friendly” in the Bangla language. I had to! Because my family moved so much, it was the only way I could make new friends. By the time I was 11, I’d lived in Ghana, Cameroon, London, New York and Mexico before settling in California just in time for middle school. Yep, I was the new kid again, in seventh grade, the year everybody barely makes it through. My biggest lifeline during those early. . .

Brand new from Abingdon Press in stores today is A Time to Love by Barbara Cameron, the first novel in the Quilts of Lancaster County series. Barbara Cameron is the author of 21 fiction and nonfiction books, three nationally televised movies (HBO-Cinemax), and the winner of the first Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Award. Sales of Amish fiction continue to soar. The apparent simplicity of the Amish lifestyle is a welcome escape from our uncertain times. A new author in this genre is Suzanne Woods Fisher. The Waiting is her second in a series called Lancaster County Secrets. The Waiting is actually a prequel to her first book, The Choice, which she wrote secretly on an antiquated computer. Her interest in the Anabaptist faith stems from her grandfather who was raised in the Old Order German Baptist Brethren Church. This inspirational fiction novel is set during the 1960s in the Amish community of Lancaster County, PA. The country is embroiled in the Vietnam War. This courageous book, set apart from mainstream Amish fiction, steps away from emphasizing the simplistic, insular lifestyle of the Amish. In The Waiting, we are confronted with prejudice, vandalism and mental illness. Women have a voice. Outsiders enter the community. . .

Last year was the last time I finished a cross stitch project (well there are these bibs that are complete except for some outlines, but AppleBlossom is too far beyond using them – wouldn’t use them for food so much as for a drooling baby). The quilt was for my niece, SisterL’s #5. Now I am making a Baby Hugs Bunny & Bear matching sampler for my new nephew, SisterL’s #6. I’m also going to start a different one soon for my brother’s son (four months younger that AppleBlossom). And just started today, I’m going to make a birth sampler for my AppleBlossom. (I’ll come back to the boys…) this one just arrived in the mail. It could not be more appropriate or perfect. So how about it do you want to keep track of my journey with status photos?
