Idahope (ID) Writers Conference

Saturday, February 26, the Boise, Idaho and IdaHope Writers Conference was held.  Donna Fletcher Crow, was one of the speakers during the break-out sessions.  Her newest release this year was “A Very Private Grave”, the first in The Monastery Murder Series.  Donna is very good at Historical writing, as she has traveled quite a bit and has a great interest in English life.  I have also enjoyed some of her older books, historical from the state of Idaho where she was born herself.  Donna has published over 35 books after being an English teacher.  The Keynote speaker was Literary Agent, Sandra Bishop, of MacGregor Literary.  Original music entertainment was by Julie Hoy of Oregon.  As a new writer, I enjoyed the topics of “Developing Characters That Breathe” and “How To Improve Your Writing” by explaining what “Proesis” is and how to keep your dialogue realistic. http://www.idahopewriters.org/

Infantino Cloud Shopping Cart Cover

Infantino has done it again! Another great multi-purpose product that is gender neutral and cute to boot! We just received our very own Infantino Cloud Shopping Cart Cover and it is adorable. Covered in multicolored numbers this is a great educational tool wrapped up in a germ shield for my itty bitty. Today we went on a test run to the grocery store and it was so easy to pull it out of the zipper pouch, flip it on, settle it down and then fasten her in and we were off!

Prefold Comparison by image FYI

So really, this post is to share these pictures with my sister. But… they might be helpful to someone. I have made a picture image comparison of the differences in sizes of the prefolds we have in our stash, including the one brand new newborn size I just ordered to see if it would make a difference. We have some Organic Under the Nile Prefolds that we think are the equivalent to what some people call “Premium” Size, and I do not know what the thickness is or anything. I bought these brand new from a woman on CraigsList in Georgia who did not end up cloth diapering after all. They have been washes hundreds of times and still are firm and stiff and not soft at all. We will never use them in diapers (lucky I didn’t pay much) but they make fabulous on the go changing pads or. . .

Lady in the Mist by Laurie Alice Eakes

By virtue of her profession as a midwife, Tabitha Eckles is the keeper of many secrets: the names of fathers of illegitimate children, the level of love and harmony within many a marriage, and now the identity of a man who may have caused his wife’s death. Dominick Cherrett is a man with his own secret to keep: namely, what he, a British nobleman, is doing on American soil working as a bondsman in the home of Mayor Kendall, a Southern gentleman with his eye on a higher office.

By chance one morning before the dawn has broken, Tabitha and Dominick cross paths on a misty beachhead, leading them on a twisted path through kidnappings, death threats, public disgrace, and . . . love? Can Tabitha trust Dominick? What might he be hiding? And can either of them find true love in a world that seems set against them?

With stirring writing that puts readers directly into the story, Lady in the Mist expertly explores themes of identity, misperception, and love’s discovery.

Link Up Missing – Irritated Me

So I’m a little bit peeved. I went to add another review to our 2011 CHF Challenge and the links were gone. Apparently Linky Tools has gone paid subscription only. As much as their website says that it was an announced decision, the disappearing act is the first I know of it! I never got one email letting me know anything about this. I’m mad. Luckily, the links do still appear to be available for a limited time so I can transfer them to something else. But what do I use? I was so excited about the thumbnail link up with the books. Does anyone have any suggestions for link ups? I guess we can just put them in comments for now, but that is so not cool. I’m sorry this happened and I’m really sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. 🙁 – Margaret

Kissaluvs Marvels One Size ALL IN ONE Diaper

Cloth diapers have already come so far in the last ten years that the ones that are out today you’d almost never assume something so cute could be an affordable adorable fluffy bum. One of the most amazing things that has come out in the last few years is the concept of an All in One (AIO) Diaper. One company that I love for their other diapers makes an AIO that I want to tell you about now. Kissaluvs. Why Marvels AIO? One Size, Fits 7-35 lbs. Quick Drying. No stuffing. Our absolute favorite diaper! Super easy to use – simply snap on and snap off! Grows with the baby, so you’ll never need to buy another diaper again. Patent Pending Self-cleaning, No-stuffing design. Toss the diaper into your washing machine and the soaker will agitate out to get a thorough cleaning and dry in a jiffy, but will stay. . .
