Rafe Kincaid controls everything in his life… until he meets Julia.
Julia Gilliland has always been interested in the natural world around her. She particularly enjoys studying the fossils and formations in the magnificent cave near her father’s house. The cave seems plenty safe–until the day a mysterious intruder steals the rope she uses to climb out.
Rafe Kincaid is a man used to being in control–of himself, his brothers, and his family’s ranch. The last thing he expects is to find a woman trapped in the cavern on his land–or to be forced to kiss her!
Rafe is more intrigued by Julia than any woman he’s ever known. But when their developing relationship threatens a reconciliation with his brothers, will Rafe have to choose between his family and this new love that could heal his troubled heart and secure his happiness?
Snickering with a silly grin in my face… it is how I often find myself when finishing a Mary Connealy book and here I am again. Review to come… book is out in August. I love each and every one of Mary’s books. She challenges me so much and entertains me in the process. I love how characters that I am so set up to hate I end up not quite feeling the same about them in the end. It really reminds me again and again to not just a person by their first impressions. This book was different from any that I have read from Mary so far (and I’m so excited for her Bethany House deal!). This book was a mix of the Christian Historical Romantic Comedy that you definitely get from Mary, but with a good bit of the psychology that you get in a contemporary Kristen Heitzmann (I say contemporary, because Kristen’s historicals do not have the same psychology in them as say The Edge of Recall). It was entertaining and kept the pages turning endlessly.
Now why must I wait for months for another?!
*Thanks to Mary and the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for sending a copy for review.*
