So glad it’s only two-year old preschool, or Tot School, or Blossom School as I plan to call it. I wanted to start back in August/September with a real school year, but it just didn’t happen. There were so many things lacking! I’ve had a lot of success though. I now have my laminator, hole punch, circle punch, glue stick, school glue, foam glue, foam sheets, construction paper, kid scissors, mama scissors, pipe cleaners, wiggly eyes, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Felt Tree and Letters (both upper and lowercase) as well as the book. We’ve found the Letter Factory DVD in a set for a bargain and even got the Crayola Activity Center (although apparently the wrong one – but I wanted blue!). I’ve been laminating and printing worksheets. Although not much has been organized yet, she does like to draw all over pages, and knows what coloring pages, and do-a-dot pages are for. (And yes… she already loves to dot!).
I bought my Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree from a mama on ebay, she makes these and other educational felt board kits. I got the tree, both sets of letters all for less than what it would cost me to buy a tree, and not to mention the printer paper and laminate that would have taken plus the time! Plus I think the Z is just too adorable. *wink* It was totally worth it to me. We are using it on my planning wall right now (a flannel sheet over plywood) and I’m sure one day I’ll use it for quilting again… maybe.
The other things in the organization stage are the calendar wall and my pinterest page in planning themes. I’ve also made up a general schedule. We’ll see how that goes. At this point I definitely do not plan to be strict on things, but I want to have a idea to go with, and not be searching for what to print on the day-of.
Luckily so far, AppleBlossom loves the idea of school. Now I just need to get a few more things in my act together, and I’m good to go. Any one know where to get wood discs online (or substitute)? Now, next step, get over this virus!
