Boba Baby Carrier

I really love babywearing. In the spring of 2010, when AppleBlossom was just a little older than OrangeBlossom is now, I had a whole month and some of featuring all sorts of carriers and other information. Some carriers were borrowed, some provided for review, some given on by request of the company to charity, some live in my closet and then others I use practically daily. Previous to then, I did not know much about babywearing, other than my SisterL did it and she had wraps. Now I’m in love with it all and fascinated by all the options available.

My staple for on the go has been my ring slings, but I’ll tell you not all ring slings are created equal! Some are grab and go, and some are a bit more bulky and not so easy to work with (although gorgeous!). My favorite ring slings have to be from two Etsy mama’s Lil Peeper Keepers and BabyEtte Boutique. I find myself always checking their stores for new patterns and fabric designs. Then there is also the Mei Tei, which I have a few I enjoy. I love my Theresa Freehand Mei Tai. On the instruction booklet it informs me that Mother Theresa used her free hands to open 517 missions in more than 100 countries. What will you do with your freehands? Personally I love that. So inspirational and really makes you want to go do something helpful, or at least it does for me. The Infantino Wrap that I reviewed earlier this year and a homemade Guaze Wrap.

Now when I’m at home, my favorite thing has to be my SleepyWrap [<– my review] (now being sold under the name Boba Wrap!) I love my SleepyWrap, no really I love it more than any other carrier that I own. I have two. 🙂 I would love to have more. I have a natural organic wrap that we received to review with AppleBlossom was around seven months old, and then I have a light blue that we got ourselves when OrangeBlossom was born (she’s sleeping in it now as I type actually… okay was… let me come back to this later…)

Boba - Baby Carriers and Baby Wraps

Okay, I’m back (a week or so later!). Soft Structured Carriers are great. Actually my first carrier was the Belle Baby Carrier (also from a company based in Colorado). I loved it and the idea behind it, I just in the end wanted a bit more support for my baby girl. The Infantino Eco Sash is cool, it’s easy to find in everyday stores like BRU and Target and it’s kinda a mesh between a mei tai and soft structured carrier. Then there is the Ergo.  I love the Ergo, but it’s heavy. I love the Ergo, but it’s too complicated for the Enginerd to want to use. So what’s a girl to do?

Get a Boba Baby Carrier, that’s what!

Enter bliss. At the time that we ordered our ERGO, AppleBlossom was in a transition. She had really good head and neck support, but was not ready to position her legs in a position with one on either side of my waist in the carrier. Interestingly enough that is exactly where I find myself with OrangeBlossom and the Boba Baby Carrier. With the Ergo, I had to use an infant insert and that was extra material, extra bulk and in the end extra heat that added to some discomfort. Solution! The Boba Baby Carrier does not have an infant insert in that way, it just has a suggested flip over this belt, snap this snap this and go! SO SIMPLE! Especially having the two girls that can both be carried in here, having a two second fix to go between one and the other makes it nice. (Okay, you also have to switch around the buckles direction, so I guess it’s more like a few minutes, but still!)

*sigh* Did I mention bliss? Let’s see… there is a hood for that sleeping or discretely nursing baby. A partial hand-full of pockets to carry just what you need to have accessible while on the go is designed in a great way to the carrier. There are many patterns to choose from to get the one that best fits you and your wardrobe. Then there are foot straps! No need to worry about the hip placement of your kiddo sitting and riding for a while, because these straps will keep you right where you need to be. I was able to use these with AppleBlossom and they really make it even one step easier. Boba - Baby CarrierOh to simple and convenient! When both girls are down and running (crawling perhaps?) around I can even use the chest strap to buckle up and go with no need to worry about it hanging around or need to take it off completely and that is nice.

  • Ola! Cherryblossommj,
Thanks for your thoughts, There are plenty of tactics to have your child securely. Finding in between a wrap type carrier or a backpack carrier will rely on your life style and actions you have prepared when you go out with your little one. Some father and mother notice the comfort and ease and the bonding of a wrap/sling type carrier the very best way to go when traveling. There are pros to the sling design carrier, which comprises a closer bonding know-how and a considerably lighter system to have.
    Nice One!
