Many things can get in the way of reading God’s Word, but the responsibilities of being a dad shouldn’t. Packed with “1-minute thought starters”—each providing a single memorable word to focus on as well as options to go deeper as time allows—The Busy Dad’s Bible is the perfect support for the time-starved dad who longs to connect with God to find wisdom and encouragement.
“It fits right into my schedule.” My life is full. Between work, the kids’ school activities, and responsibilities at church, there’s not a lot of unused time during the day. But the Busy Dad’s Bible fits right into my schedule. Whenever I have a few minutes of downtime, I can turn to the Bible and be inspired by the thoughts in these short devotions. It helps to keep me connected, no matter how full my calendar is.” —Mark, age 42

Got a Minute Only a minute? This Bible is designed just for you.
Unlike the others that you’ve recently heard me talking about, I do not have a hardcopy of this one. I read an electronic copy through NetGalley. I have to say, I know that this is a great Bible, because it’s on the same lines as the Busy Mom’s Bible et al, but reading it electronically is no where near the same for me for this one. I think for me it has a lot to do with the feel of the size and texture that I can grab it and go. While if it’s on your eReader that would be true too, I still would recommend highly to go with the physical copy here (after all it’s not that much thicker than your eReader would be!).
Through out the pages there are 52 Thought Starters, so you could make this work as a year long devotion. Suggested verses to memorize make bringing the Bible devotion off the page and into your busy life. The feature element pages are full of masculine coloring and great fun fonts and all around this is a very handsome Bible. In a New International Version translation with red-letter Christ text this is a fabulous daily inspiration for all fathers.
Other features include a thorough NIV Concordance, that helps take key words and bring the full text to organization when your brain just cannot remember it all. Then there is a great Study Index that shows topically the studies from the various sections, be it 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes. There is also a list that contains five minute readings about Jesus to help you along the way and of course several pages of beautifully detailed maps to bring the area to life.
*Thanks to Zondervan for lending an electronic copy through Netgalley for Review.*
(No spam, I promise. Just creative madness ramblings, reviews and life-stories, with quilting and cross stitch inspiration in between!)
