As an adult, Amelia Bedelia charms one and all with her delicious cakes and pies. But how did everyone’s favorite housekeeper get her culinary education? For the first time, fans can join Amelia Bedelia as a child as she bakes her very first apple pie. Herman Parish—together with Lynne Avril’s the adorably fresh art—brings the humor and fun of Amelia Bedelia, whose beginning reader books have sold more than 23 million copies, to a whole new level in this best-selling picture book series. A wonderful book for apple-picking season and all year round, Amelia Bedelia’s First Apple Pie will have readers hungry for more.
Amelia Bedelia is one that I remember from my childhood memories. I remember the hanging out light bulbs on the clothes line, was that to put out the lights? I think so. It always made me chuckle to find someone to be quite so literal. These books are awesome for fun, humor and teaching logic. This one, Amelia Bedelia’s First Apple Pie is my first experience with “young” Amelia Bedelia and I think she’s awesome. I’m over the top delighted to be able to introduce the antics of Amelia Bedelia to my preschooler and I’m sure we’ll read this one again and again and I’ll have to add more to our shelves.
Going on a trip to the Farmers Market, not to buy a farmer, but apples. Looking for Granny Smith… and baking a pie with Grandma. *sigh* This is a memory builder and it’s excellent and fun.
