We are really enjoying reading stories with Marley featured in the I Can Read! series and this year has been an incredible year to find some new storybook treasuries especially this one with Marley. While I enjoyed the storybook treasury with Biscuit, I think this one was done even better. This book contains a handful of I Can Read! Marley stories and they appear just as they would in the I Can Read! books except each page is sided with a pleasant color on the border to bring the book to a nice lap size reader. This is great for still encouraging your early reader, but also for reading together. My preschooler loves to poor over these and “reads” them to herself often after we’ve read them together. I have no doubt that this will remain a favorite treasure for years.
We love all of these stories, and they are some good choices from the Marley stories and here are two examples below.
Marley: Marley’s Big Adventure
Definitely we can always find Marley in trouble but he is always fun-loving too and it is my opinion this book has a hidden messages. While Marley is bad and gets into trouble repeatedly, his family still loves him and wants him around. A great early reader with some slight suspense and anticipation. An awesome opening for the Marley’s Storybook Treasury.
Marley: Snow Dog Marley
Marley is always in trouble, but this time he is redeemed for most of the day. This is a fun read that would go really well in the winter time. My preschooler has already loved it so much she has requested it multiple times. A good addition found in both Marley’s Storybook Treasury
