This is an absolutely amazing devotional with 365 days of personal challenges that I am delighted to have put my hands upon. Since I picked this one up for review I have been reading through a bit more quickly than what is meant as I have been doing a few days worth reading at a time, but I am planning to go back and do it again next year because I am enjoying it that much. As a matter of fact, after just reading through the readings for January I am loving this so much that I am considering buying a copy for absolutely every woman I know. I have enjoyed in the past reading parts of Joanna Weaver’s books and this devotional is as if she went through her three books (Mary, Martha and Lazarus) and divided them up to dates and added on the appropriate verses of inspiration and then followed by a reflection verse that gives you a slight challenge – whether it is something to write down or just ponder.
It’s amazing to me how the evil spirits seem to pounce when you find something that is strong in the word of God and this devotional is. I have been so challenged by her words and stories and inspired by going deeper in scripture on a daily basis. The individual devotions do not take much time, but I find myself wanting to spend more time as I go from a scripture to read and go further or back a bit more in my reading. Pairing this devotional with the Everyday Bible for Women has been an invigorating experience and I truly thing they are both a must have for every woman I know. I cannot recommend this devotional enough!
The book itself is beautiful, it’s a “gift book” so the cover has just a bit of padding to it and it’s about the size of a trade paperback book but it’s hardcover. It’s gorgeous on a shelf and table, and I enjoy reaching for it. The text is all one color as per usual, but the little swirls here and there that accent the Bible verses give it just a bit of umph that is really attractive.
Whether you have read Joanna’s books in the past or not, At the Feet of Jesus has something for you within the pages. It is delivered in a beautiful book package that will grace your permanent keeper shelves I promise.
