  1. Hmm.. Let’s see my thoughts on the Christy Nominees for 2013… Contemporary Romance: I’ve read Lethal Legacy and liked it and I have The Breath of Dawn in my pile. I haven’t read Wildflowers of Winter, but wouldn’t be opposed to adding it to my pile. Contemporary Series, Sequels and Novellas: Elizabeth Musser is amazing and I really need to read the whole series! I love Susan May Warren, but I haven’t read You Don’t Know Me. I’ll need to get a copy of that one. Waiting for Sunrise is in my pile and I do enjoy Eva Marie Everson. I haven’t read any of the Contemporary Standalone nominees, but it must be a great day for Chris Fabry getting a double nomination. Into the Free is in my pile as is Wedded to War, but I’m dying to get my hands on Tangled Ashes, which appears to have historical elements in it. All three of those from the First Novel section.

And now for my bliss. Flame of Resistance is in my pile as I already mentioned is Wedded to War. These just moved up. A Wreath of Snow is wonderful and you can read my review on that one. Against the Tide is probably my favorite cover from 2012 and it’s in my pile as is a copy of Be Still My Soul, another beauty and a setting that reminds me of home and my childhood. Love’s Reckoning is an AMAZING novel and if these others are competing with Laura’s novel I cannot wait to read them and see what they have in store!

And then onto Suspense: I enjoyed Rare Earth from Davis Bunn, but I don’t think I have any of the others yet. I’d grab them if I came across them though. Visionary: These all look great. The only one I have is Starflower and I mean to read that whole series. I think the first one is still up for grabs free as an eBook. Young Adult: I had not ever heard of Child of the Mountain which is driving me a bit bonkers as it appears to be historical so I’m dying to get my hands on it. I’m not familiar with Failstate, but John Otte is a great writer, this I know from blog tours and years of passing by in the internet world. And then Interrupted. Rachel Coker is an amazing young up and coming and from the bits of Interrupted I read it’s fabulous.

Now if I wasn’t already busy with the new releases, I’m jumping back to dive into these that I can. There are two that I’m uber excited about, but I just have to try to read all the other historicals. That’s just me. 🙂

  3. Such fun to see your Christy inspired TBR all piled up there! And so honored to see my books among the group. So many great titles. Several I need to still read! I adored Love’s Reckoning and was never able to finish Against The Tide due to an editing deadline, but I am so eager to dive back in!

    • me too! I’ve been fighting whatever this sinus infection is off and on and I’m so glad to be able to read again. I just hope this new antibiotic stuff works and that I can KEEP reading. There is so much I want to catch up on!

  4. Margaret! You always go the extra mile, even when you’re still recovering! I’m so touched and honored to be among these finalists on your blog (waving madly to Joanne)! You’re in for such a treat with her novel. So glad you’re back to reading again. Hugs to you!
