Now we’re in my category that I can boast on a bit as I spent practically a whole day organizing myself on this one to make the most of it. While I know that people would love to have a CD of all the songs chosen for the year in the curriculum plans for Jr. K because of copyright issues that is a hard task to accomplish. However, with the availability of streaming music online, especially through a new software I’m just now getting to know called Spotify it is possible to follow someone’s playlist.
I practically spent all day doing it for myself and figured I might share in case it would help anyone. I have a pinterest board and a Spotify play list for all the Junior Kindergarten Music and Poetry.
All the songs used in the Lesson Plans for Memoria Press Junior Kindergarten in one place! (Some songs have a few version to choose from or use them all).
— the pinterest wall links to mp3s on Amazon, and all expect one (A Song of Seasons) is available to hear on Spotify
(I know that’s a crazy long link. I’m not sure how to find a smaller one…)
Also a work in progress is a YouTube playlist of videos relevant. I have one for MP Jr. K Storybook selections: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL15394A06480CDDA7 and another one for Music selections (includes poetry): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB1F6C600390854FA
The problem is that videos keep getting deleted from the source one reason or another from youtube entirely, so that sometimes leaves a blank spot I have to search for again later.
All that said, you might be wondering where I found the music that we listen to. While some of it yes I stream only on my desktop for free from Spotify, others I actually have on CD. Actually a majority I have on a variety of Wee Sing CDs.

Wee Sing, oh how I love thee!
When I started researching things that I wanted to implement into curriculum and start purchasing since I’d use them for years, one thing that kept coming up was Wee Sing. First it was mentioned, I think, in The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer and Jessie Wise. Then again I saw it often in the references and catalogs from Veritas Press. Then again in the Memoria Press forums and again and again. Then when I started into the Animal Play Curriculum it was Wee Sing Animals Animals Animals. I knew I would have to get my hands on these.
I am over the top delighted! Wee Sing is awesome. The Wee Sing Bible Songs CD is packed from songs from my childhood, Sunday School, VBS and more. Then on top of that there are several poems and other songs that I did not know before but I am delighted to learn now and to teach them to my daughters. The booklet that comes with the CD is great. It has the music and sometimes sign language to go with songs and the words to the poems as well. We sometimes listen to this for specific songs and sometimes just to start the day (most days!). I absolutely love this and I know that Wee Sing is going to be a great aide in giving my children a great foundation.
As a person who is practically humming or singing all the time, this fits my personality perfectly. Then now to have my 20 month old daughter also singing at the top of her little lungs, “Jesus, Love Children! The Bible tells me so…” is awesome. I’m excited to know that she can keep learning and already at her young age is putting such great words to memory. Absolutely fantastic!
