I recall once being told when it is cold enough for the sled dog master to invite the dogs into his tent the coldness of the night is measured by the quantity of dogs to provide adequate warmth.
Well I don’t have sled dogs, but I do have toddlers or near-to. So for me it’s a three kiddo night and I’m still quite chilly.
The Enginerd is working in the garage on “an experiment” and he’s been out in the cold all day. The girls nervous with the absence refused to stay in their own bed and room. Newborn boy is already in my room, often in his crib and nursing in my bed back and forth all night.
The warmth of this dog-pile of children is blissful. I went to check on the status of said project (and to make sure he wasn’t frozen to the concrete…) and returned with cold feet that I promptly slid under daughter #2 and snuggled back up to daughter #1 and I’m warming quite up.
