Sew ‘n Tell Friday

Does this still count as Friday?

I’m still working hard on my Woodland Enchantress. I’m loving how the snow is a blue and deep purple shade. See that new grey tree or two? I’m loving it! Maybe I will finish it this winter.

AppleBlossom (age 5) has finished her rainbow since Wednesday! Can you believe it?! I had the Enginerd stop on his way home to buy her a new kit. She requested a butterfly so he bought her three. She picked on to start as is already nearly finished in just one evening!

The new kit has a plastic needle when she was using metal so that’s a step down but we can remedy that next time. This kit is still just needlepoint or a half cross stitch but it is still working on her patience and attention to detail. She is doing so well. One of her kits is a real cross stitch kit so I’m really curious to see if she’ll be able to do that one. Time will tell.

And baby boy (6.5 months) is rocking on the knees! Pretty soon he’ll be off!

We have a sewing box for OrangeBlossom. But it’s not quite finished yet and she is so here there and yonder… Lacing cards too. I’ll try to get that fixed up and take pictures sometime.

Like mama, like daughter. 🙂 Love that she’s already crafty at such a young age – I didn’t start cross-stitching until I was 12.

    • I’m already trying to think of new things! I cannot believe she’s nearly done with the butterfly!!

I thought I recognized that piece from your WIP Wednesday the other week. I tried to stitch her a few years ago when I had two clinging babies, but I gave up about a quarter of the way through because I had messed up so badly on the counting in one section! She looks beautiful. 🙂

    • Thank you! It is quite hard in the evenings when I really want to stitch but wiggly baby prevents it. Its mostly the few minutes when all are in bee before he wakes and realizes I’m not holding him.
