While Book-It is a year-round program, they have excellent printables, lists and materials for summer. I have printed so many pages from this site and I’m quite excited about the enthusiasm that it will enhance with my girls. They have even partnered with Candlewick Press and have book-specific printables available as well.

Now this is a neat site! Not exactly summer reading, but a great inspiration page for reading in general. After reading a book, kids come to this page, login to an account, and take a quiz on the book. I just went through and made a list for our upcoming school year and a good majority of our titles are available with quizzes. I’m eager to see how AppleBlossom will like this one.

Lifeway’s Summer R.E.A.D. Program for Kids

Reveal. Explore. Amaze. Discover. Through the Lifeway reading program, students are challenged to read six books over the course of the summer and memorize six Scripture verses. In the end they can earn a new Bible and new book from a specific list.
