By any accounting this blog post title might definitely be related to a needlecraft art. New Year, New Starts and WIPs sounds a bit like something directly out of a Stitch Maynia or Stitch from Stash SAL (stitch-a-long for those curious).
Yet at the same time doesn’t that title ring true for a homeschool mama trekking alongside in school with her students? We need a fresh start. We need to regroup our progress and decide what is working and what efforts need to be tweaked to reach the optimal progress for us all to succeed.
And then again, what about the mom blogger who wants to make a fresh and exhilarating new Year with an effort into affiliate funding and building review and other blog relations in the online community of similar mamas.
While we are at it, why not throw in the prospect of new life growing deep in the womb just starting to kick and make itself known. New Year, New Starts and Works in Progress. What mama doesn’t need to evaluate her parenting relationships with her offspring. Build stronger foundations when necessary and lay the framework for adding a new bundle and blessing halfway through the year. Throw in marriage and love relationships while we’re on the topic of family.
It is an amazing gift that the Creator gives us. Each day, each new and exciting adventure. Life-long creative learners is what I’m hoping to cultivate in my home. I want my children to be excited and thrilled with anticipation about what is around the corner with each passing day and year. I delight with the prospect of my husband coming home to more and more wholesome home-cooked real food meals and children filled to the brim with stories and tales to share with their daddy, the Enginerd. As each hour passes and week by week I cannot wait to be sure when it is a kick and a budding movement by this new personality that is already building inside of me to see who God is sending to join us next. As challenges and stitch-a-longs begin I cannot wait to jump in and join the fun whipping my needle into action and joining the community of stitchers I’ve discovered online. And, of course, I look forward to discovering what adventures are in wait for us all as we turn the page to read a bit more.
What about you? What does your new year of 2017 hold for you?
