Pencil Grip 3 Step Training Kit {Review}

I remember teaching my girls how to form letters but I did not teach them grip. They just did it, not my son. Right now, my Rascal boy is three-years-old and this is a great introduction time for us with the The 3 Step Pencil Grip Training Kit from The Pencil Grip, Inc. as a review. We have become familiar with The Pencil Grip, Inc. in the past through our use of our beloved Thin Stix and are quite a family fan. (Stay tuned for more in the upcoming weeks about a Thin Stix Creativity Pack as well!) For the purposes of this review, we were sent a 3 Step Pencil Grip Training Kit as well as The Ultra Safe Safety Scissors. We all found the scissors to be rather awkward and I doubt we will use them. I do, however, like the concept they present and will return to encourage my. . .

Reading Eggs {Review}

Over the years since I have started including computer schooling into our days from time to time I have often heard of the incredible skills learned with Reading Eggs, but it was not until now that I was able to discover the magic for myself with our own kiddos. For the purposes of this review, I was given a six-month access for two students. We added the access to a trial I meant to do but didn’t several years ago for my oldest AppleBlossom. So now she has until early April 2018. The Princess has until mid-April and the Rascal we had a two week trial that ended a few days ago. We currently have access to Reading Eggs Junior (ages 2-4), Reading Eggs (ages 3-7), and Reading Eggspress (ages 7-13, grades 1-6), and also to MathSeeds (ages 3-9. Speaking of which, there is a great Free 4 week trial available!. . .

CTCMath Online Maths Tutor {Review, 4th Year}

While it is true that I was on the Math Team in my youth, mathematics is not always my favorite subject to teach. This is why CTCMath Online Maths Tutor is a real blessing to my family, we started with an Single Membership several years ago, but right now a Family Membership is exactly what we need as I have added three of my students to our account. For the purposes of this review, we received a one-year subscription added on to our account, and by the way homeschoolers can get 60% off + 6 bonus months. If you’re curious, check out the Free Trial!! (These two promotions end November 15, 2017!) What is it? CTCMath is an online membership. Our account is set to a Family Membership, and each of my three students have a unique login and dashboard. Over the past several years since I first started using. . .

Channie’s My First Letters Workbook {Review}

A few months ago, I was trying to find something to tide us over through the summer for my girls while browsing in our local Neighborhood Tutor teacher’s store. I came across a new set of workbooks, Channie’s Visual Handwriting & Math Workbooks, that the owner was very excited about and had just added to her shelves during her last expo shopping event. I was thinking that My First Letters (PreK-1st)  might be just the thing to get my eager to learn preschool three-year-old son started in the right direction with a little bit of fun and guidance as an introduction to “school”. I’m also putting the Easy Peasy Cursive (1st to 3rd) and One Page a Day: Double-Digit Math Problem Workbook  (1st to 3rd) on my probable school supply list for next year for the girls.  One step at a time For the purposes of this review, I was sent one copy of My First. . .

Super Teacher Worksheets #Printables {Review}

Several years ago, I was introduced to Super Teacher Worksheets and I am delighted to again come to tell you just how helpful this Individual Membership website has been to my teaching this year. In 2015, you may have read my beginning opinions of this printables and worksheets website. In the depths of 2017, a good two years later I still love using this resource and it is one of my preferences. Once again, for the purposes of this review, I was blessed to receive a one-year individual membership added to my existing account. Generally,  I have found myself looking for extra practice and using many pages as supplemental work. For example, my toddler preschool son is just now starting to learn the basics of penmanship. We have workbooks, but sometimes there is a letter he needs just that much more practice with. I’m thrilled that I can go in and. . .
