It is that time of year, the West Tennessee Frontier Girls are getting ready to start a new year (year end is August 31st) and we are in the planning stages! This year we are livening things up a bit by adding on the Rascal as he turned three a few months back. As he will be participating under quest, I haven’t decided what I will do yet about our Pioneer Troop, but I suppose a name change is in order to include him and I’ll have to decide on a uniform as well. I’m hoping that more local kiddos will want to join in on the fun this year, and time will tell!
First up is to check on our uniforms. The Rascal doesn’t have one at all yet, so he will be starting from scratch. My vest is fine, just a few patches I need to sew on from last year. AppleBlossom is on the brink of needing a new vest, I’m not sure if I will make her a new one now, or if we will try to wait it out a little bit longer. The Princess, however, still fits in her tiny vest just fine. This afternoon the girls went through and removed all of their badges from the last year as they are both leveling up this year! I printed out some Level Forms with the goal of having AppleBlossom write down some badges that she hopes to earn this year (with the past badges fresh in her mind). I will also be going through our homeschool curriculum with goals in mind as well and see what sort of lists we can come up with to pursue.
Last year was not a big field trip year, but hopefully we will get out of the house more this year (with less doctor appointments!) and continue the learning adventures. Come join us! This year, AppleBlossom will be a Dolphin (grades 3-5), the Princess will be an Otter (K-2), and the Rascal will be Quest and thus not truly a Penguin, but Preschool level and I think I might still call him a Penguin. 😉
I’m making my lists of ribbons and felt and all that fun stuff that I need to order and plan to place my order soon and the new year will be off with a rush!
