The Action Storybook Bible {Review}

  Our shelves contain a plethora of Storybook Bibles (as well as full Bibles) so why, you ask, would I be here today to talk to you about another new release… Several years ago, I introduced my oldest daughter to The Action Bible, soon followed by both The Action Bible New Testament & Devotional, and The Action Bible Handbook. She has fallen in love with The Action Bible series. I am in love with her enthusiasm to spend hours reading and studying Bible stories. As a matter of fact, in the last year and a half our chosen Bible curriculum has not been working out so well with us. She reads her own personal Bible (a HCBS Princess leatherbound edition) but with our previous curriculum the stories and their details just were not sticking to memory for her like it did with history. I decided to still use the recommended storybook Bible with. . .

Captain Bayley’s Heir (from Heirloom Audio Productions) {Review}

One of the best additions to our homeschool repertoire in the past few years is the inclusion of audio dramatization adventures especially The Extraordinary Adventures of G.A. Henty from the amazing creative of Heirloom Audio Productions. Most recently we have journeyed to the far west in the United States of young America during the gold rush era in Captain Bayley’s Heir. Over the last several months, we have joined and enjoyed the community of the Live the Adventure Club which has given us immediate access to bonuses that enhance our Captain Bayley’s Heir study. For the purposes of this review, we received a physical Audio two-CD set and access to digital components added to our online account. Audio Adventure We love having a physical CD collection of Heirloom Audio Productions adventures. Through our experiences with The Extraordinary Adventures of G.A. Henty, we’ve journeyed back in time in the car on. . .

Feeling really bad this morning. Hungry but don’t want to eat. Determined though since I’m finally bumping my metabolism out of starvation mode. I went in the kitchen with the intent of using organic roasted chicken bouillon to make broth and add some protein powder. I left with this. Whey protein and Just Gelatin (added and mixed to cool water then added to hot broth), two handfuls of fresh baby spinach, left over sliced turkey sausage, and left over protein veggies and brown rice mix. You’re welcome. #losetheweight #iquitsugar #trimhealthymama #trimhealthymamacookbook #thm #thmemeal #soup #ihaveafever #fever #sick from Instagram: http://ift.tt/2jOzZXs

Attempting a THM (E) dinner. Big bed of spinach, serving spoon full of protein brown rice and veggie mix, turkey sausage browned in a skillet alone. No extra oils. Not extra fats. No sugar simply ranch dressing. How did I do? #thm #trimhealthymama #losetheweight #iquitsugar #thmemeal #spinach #turkeysausage #edamame #brownrice from Instagram: http://ift.tt/2hgT5ox

Let’s Go Geography {Review}

This year, we have changed things up a bit and I did not have a real geography study plan set out. When the opportunity to review Let’s Go Geography and their world geography Year 1 program came up I was delighted to accept for our family. For the purposes of this review, I was given access to a subscription of one year of geography studies. This year is the first year of three planned for a full curriculum to cover many of the countries of the world at about 26 countries per year.  My access is intended to be used by one teacher for my homeschool. I am using this program with two of my students that both fall within the K-3 range. We are using a long day each week to spend studying with Let’s Go Geography. Each of my girls has a three-ring binder where they are keeping their pages. Everything. . .

The Bears on Hemlock Mountain E-Guide (Progeny Press) {Review}

If you were to ask me what the one most important part of our homeschool day would be, I would not hesitate to respond with something along the line of books, our reading. We are absolutely a book and story loving family and Progeny Press ~ http://www.ProgenyPress.com) is one of the golden names for study guides. This year we have been blessed with the opportunity to review The Bears on Hemlock Mountain E-Guide (Grades 1-3) for use with my third grade daughter. My daughter already has gotten into reading other novels and short books by Alice Dagliesh and has started to read The Bears on Hemlock Mountain. In the past, we have also used and enjoyed other guides from Progeny Press such as The Minstrel in the Tower and Miss Rumphius. With our experience, I believed that this guide would also benefit our family for some literary analysis homeschool studies. For the purposes. . .

September Frontier Girls Pioneer Newsletter

This is a newsletter for the happenings of the Creative Madness Mama Frontier Girls of West Tennessee…  Last year, we slacked horribly with Frontier Girls. I tried several times to get things going with other local people, but schedules never went together and then I just stopped trying. Then there was all the medical stuff with a miscarriage and a new pregnancy, and yeah. It wasn’t the right season for us. Yet this brings us to now! Baby Mermaid Warrior is almost four months old, curriculum is picked and girls have started in our homeschool, and little Rascal brother is curious to learn. Plus mama feels like planning a field trip or two and the creative side is brewing. Thus, here we are! We are so excited to be starting a new year with our participation in the Frontier Girls as a Pioneer Troop. Now, my eight-year-old AppleBlossom has crossed. . .

Frontier Girls – New Year, it’s that time!

It is that time of year, the West Tennessee Frontier Girls are getting ready to start a new year (year end is August 31st) and we are in the planning stages! This year we are livening things up a bit by adding on the Rascal as he turned three a few months back. As he will be participating under quest, I haven’t decided what I will do yet about our Pioneer Troop, but I suppose a name change is in order to include him and I’ll have to decide on a uniform as well. I’m hoping that more local kiddos will want to join in on the fun this year, and time will tell! First up is to check on our uniforms. The Rascal doesn’t have one at all yet, so he will be starting from scratch. My vest is fine, just a few patches I need to sew on. . .

Homeschool Marine Biology from Apologia & Swimming Creatures (Apologia Science) {Review}

I love science and science is a big part of my own educational background. In our homeschool we are still finding our path with regards to science plans and Apologia Educational Ministries is a very important participant in that journey. Through the blessing of the Homeschool Review Crew, I found myself ecstatic to jump into the opportunity to review Apologia’s latest update to the Marine Biology 2nd Edition Advantage Set including the textbook, solutions, and student notebook journal. We also were given a bonus of the Marine Biology 2nd Edition Audio CD, read by Marissa Leinart. Homeschool Marine Biology from Apologia is exciting and an instant favorite for my science bookshelf! What I received For the purposes of this review, I received a beautiful 557-page full-color hardcover textbook, a perfect-bound 8×11″ paperback black and white solutions and tests manual, an additional test booklet, a large 505-page color student spiral notebook journal, and. . .

Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus {Review}

A while back, I was searching for something to watch on Netflix and I came across Patterns of Evidence. Since the first time I stumbled upon this documentary I have watched it quite a few times for interest and entertainment. Thus, when a review opportunity popped up for the DVD of the same, I was thrilled. While life has gotten away from me and I’m missing review deadlines, I still want you to know what an incredible experience this documentary is and how it is very worthwhile for your family. About the author/filmmaker/producer: Tim Mahoney Tim Mahoney founded Mahoney Media Group, Inc. (MMG) in 1989.
