Blake eLearning Inc materials continue to impress! (Reading Eggs and more) {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. A few years ago, my oldest children were able to have an introduction to Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress. The squeals were real when I told them that all four could have a one-year subscription to Reading Eggs from Blake eLearning Inc. The platform can accommodate families up to four children, which is perfect for us, at this moment and I believe my oldest will have outgrown the programming before my fifth student is…

I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. My oldest student is transitioning to a new math program after years of the same provider. Next, Princess — my middle daughter — is needing to go a different direction as well, what we were using just isn’t right for her. We had success with an intensive program over the summer and I was eager to look for something new for this new school year. It was an interesting adventure to jump in…

Goals for the New School Year 2020-2021
New School Year We run a little one-room schoolhouse. My students are learning how to be life-long learners and we study year-round. Right now, we are transitioning from one year to another in some subjects, other subjects will need a bit longer to complete. Unlike a traditional school, when the school year ends your time ends, we can use as much time as we want and continue or cease the study when we are ready. We have a baby in the house who is focused on teething and learning to walk as he has mastered the craw. An excellent snuggle buddy and distraction for all. Viking Dragon (9 months) This…

How to Teach Writing at Home (IEW®) {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. This post contains affiliate links. As a student, I do not consider myself to be a very capable writer. As a teacher, the concept of teaching writing to my students is very overwhelming. I want them to be better than I am and I want them to have confidence in the process of writing instead of fear. More times than I can even possibly commit to counting I have had the recommendation of…

We are once again, gratefully and eagerly using the family-friendly Home School in the Woods materials to augment our homeschool plan. Right now we are studying American History,…

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. My entire childhood is filled with summer and after-school memories of Brain Quest. When I discovered some materials in a series called The Complete Middle School Study Guide and saw how colorful and interest-based all the books were I had to start buying them. My oldest student is on the cusp of middle school as she finishes up her fifth-grade studies and she has already started working on some materials for sixth-grade in…

The Easter Storybook (Review) a 40-day reader
Over the years that I have been book blogging I have often found David C. Cook (https://davidccook.org/) to have a treasure for our keeper shelf. We have several Bible Storybooks and recently have added The Easter Storybook to our collection. My oldest daughter loves The Action Bible collection and I love the Christian Historical Fiction that I have read over the years.

It’s Game Day! Continent Race (Byron’s Games) charity benefited board games {Review}
We had a blast playing this game. There was shouting, giggling, declarations, anxiety, joy, and frustration. I can see great benefits from playing this and different ways that we can make it work for us. It was so much fun and I honestly hope you'll look into it. There are apps coming soon that relate to the physical board game we now have and many other games available from the company. The story of how Byron's Games got started is very interesting and a worthy charity cause.

During our homeschool years, I have been eagerly building a home library full of interesting books to captivate my children’s imagination and teach them. We are trying to create life-long learners and one of my favorite methods is to use books to open up a world they have never seen before and this is fun to do with the use of a book series such as the If You Were Me and Lived in… series…

Channie’s Neat Numbers Workbook {Review} and One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice Workbook {Review}
Last year, my four-year-old son discovered one of his favorite workbook styles in the form of Channie’s My First Letters Workbook. This year, he was pleased at five-years-old to continue the tradition and start a new workbook Channie’s Neat Numbers (Ages 3-5). My girls were also able to get in on the fun using Channie’s One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice (Grades 3-5). If we continue to use these for school supplemental review, I would definitely be purchasing these affordable workbooks for each girl. For the purpose of this review, I put them in the book where their skills lie of Channie’s Visual Handwriting & Math workbooks. RELATED: Channie’s…
