Blake eLearning Inc materials continue to impress! (Reading Eggs and more) {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. A few years ago, my oldest children were able to have an introduction to Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress. The squeals were real when I told them that all four could have a one-year subscription to Reading Eggs from Blake eLearning Inc. The platform can accommodate families up to four children, which is perfect for us, at this moment and I believe my oldest will have outgrown the programming before my fifth student is…

A new math option with ThemeVille Math {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.  My oldest student is transitioning to a new math program after years of the same provider. Next, Princess — my middle daughter — is needing to go a different direction as well, what we were using just isn’t right for her. We had success with an intensive program over the summer and I was eager to look for something new for this new school year. It was an interesting adventure to jump in…

How to Teach Writing at Home (IEW®) {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. This post contains affiliate links. As a student, I do not consider myself to be a very capable writer. As a teacher, the concept of teaching writing to my students is very overwhelming. I want them to be better than I am and I want them to have confidence in the process of writing instead of fear. More times than I can even possibly commit to counting I have had the recommendation of…

The American Revolution (Time Travelers – Home School in the Woods) {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. Today was one of those relaxing mornings. Blissful to the point of this is what I imagined for our homeschooling experience. These are the days that I look forward to and that of which I am in effect trying to convert most of our time. We are once again, gratefully and eagerly using the family-friendly Home School in the Woods materials to augment our homeschool plan. Right now we are studying American History,…

My family is once again jumping into the neat program from MaxScholar (https://maxscholar.com/). We are grateful to be utilizing the overall program with the MaxScholar Orton-Gillingham Software for a six-month subscription for four student profiles and one teacher access. My oldest three are definitely getting the most from the program.

Critical Thinking, Bible study, Reading Literature Curriculum (Progeny Press) {Review}
After a few years of homeschooling in a Classical Christian Education with a flare of Charlotte Mason sorta way one can get pretty comfortable with returning to specific curriculum providers again and again with confidence. One such publisher that my family really consistently enjoys is Progeny Press.

Mastering Logic & Math Problem Solving (The Critical Thinking Co.) {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. 👩🏻‍🏫 Critical Thinking Resources for Students One of the first companies that I heard about when I started researching how to teach a Classical Christian Education is The Critical Thinking Co.™. Consistently there are a plethora of resources here in favor of enhancing better grades, higher test scores, and award-winning material. Mastering Logic & Math Problem Solving (Grades 6-9) is the book we were given for this review. This is a perfect-bound paperback…

The Hidden Message (in the national seal) {Review}
The mystery, adventure, and lives of those past intrigues me and always has. For the last few weeks, I have had the unique pleasure of diving into a book from The Hidden Message, LLC on the book The Hidden Message of the Great Seal: How Foundational Truth From The Dawn Of Liberty May Rescue A Republic In Peril.Â

The Easter Storybook (Review) a 40-day reader
Over the years that I have been book blogging I have often found David C. Cook (https://davidccook.org/) to have a treasure for our keeper shelf. We have several Bible Storybooks and recently have added The Easter Storybook to our collection. My oldest daughter loves The Action Bible collection and I love the Christian Historical Fiction that I have read over the years.

It’s Game Day! Continent Race (Byron’s Games) charity benefited board games {Review}
We had a blast playing this game. There was shouting, giggling, declarations, anxiety, joy, and frustration. I can see great benefits from playing this and different ways that we can make it work for us. It was so much fun and I honestly hope you'll look into it. There are apps coming soon that relate to the physical board game we now have and many other games available from the company. The story of how Byron's Games got started is very interesting and a worthy charity cause. Â

Nazi Prison Escape (Great Escapes #1) by Michael Burgan {Review}
This review was written by my 10-year-old daughter that is thrilled to the bone (and an avid collector) of survival-type books. She read this book in one afternoon because she found it so interesting and couldn’t put it down for “fear of exploding in wonder”. The Great Escapes book has a very exciting character named Bill Ash. During the 1920s, many people had bought stock in US companies. The stock made those people part-owners of those companies. When those companies did not perform as expected, the value of many stocks began to fall. A lot of people tried to sell their stocks all at once, causing a stock market crash.…

If You Were Me and Lived in… series by Carole P. Roman returns for more education on the blog {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.   During our homeschool years, I have been eagerly building a home library full of interesting books to captivate my children’s imagination and teach them. We are trying to create life-long learners and one of my favorite methods is to use books to open up a world they have never seen before and this is fun to do with the use of a book series such as the If You Were Me and Lived in… series…

Boxcar Classics: The Boxcar Children is available even for the earliest readers! {Review}
When I was a kid, I remember reading The Boxcar Children, I recall there were dozens of books in the series and reading and collecting series books always excited me. Right now, I have a ten-year-old that is well versed in every Boxcar Children book she can get her hands on who loves adventure stories, an eight-year-old who is a budding reader that is skeptical when a book doesn't contain a princess or ghost story, and a new phonetical reader on the cusp of his own journey into beginner books. The Boxcar Children fits all of them!

What We’re Reading in Our Homeschool: January 2020
A few weeks ago, I really enjoyed writing about what we were reading in December 2019 and now it is time again to write about what we are reading for January 2020! Reading much lately? In an effort to be more routine and sharing with what we are up to I am trying to take inspiration from those that inspire me such as Candice from Homeschool on the Hill. While she is a vlogger and I am more of a written blogger she has great routines with sharing their homeschool experiences. One of which routines I want to pick up is discussing what we are reading in our Memoria ScholĂ© Academy…
