Growing a relationship with God using the Day by Day Chronological Bible {Review}
*Review and Giveaway, my friends! Today is the last day (1.25.2019) to enter as a reader of Creative Madness Mama for an opportunity to get your own FREE Day by Day Chronological Bible from Holman Bibles. BROWN LEATHERTOUCH ($39.99 RETAIL VALUE!) My 365 Day Bible for 2019 Often I find that I am surprised when a spare memory from my 11-year-old self surfaces to my mind. I’ll spare you many details, but that was a year of wonder and I had an incredible Bible teacher at the private school I was attending. Mrs. Latham, or was it Dr. Latham? Either way, she introduced me to the task of reading a Bible…

Anyone in the mood for a giveaway?
I have been working a new review product for the last few days and I gotta admit I’m impressed. From years past, you may recall I have quiet the Bible library. (BA in Religious Studies) Full of translations and formats, there is something for most any occasion. I do not recall having a CSB outside of maybe a kids version. This new Day by Day Chronological Bible is pretty nifty. The leather touch feels awesome in my hands and the order of organization keeps me turning pages. Reading from Genesis, Exodus, Job, and Psalms, to end with a blip from Matthew makes for a good start to one’s day. I…

Paul, Apostle of Christ Movie {Giveaway}
I can still remember the complete silence as the theatre emptied when the film Passion of the Christ ended. It was vespers silence, where everyone felt touched by the portrayal of Jim Caviezel and others and they presented the story of Christ’s sacrifice. Now it is time to feel that again on the big screen in this theatrical release of Paul, Apostle of Christ, this Easter season. Nobody is beyond God’s mercy. Coming from Sony Pictures Entertainment, specifically AFFIRM Films, again staring Jim Caviezel with other talents of James Faulkner, Olivier Martinex, and Joanna Whalley the story comes to life. PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is the story of two men.…

Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW): Teaching Writing, Structure & Style {Review}
We are still in the beginning of our homeschool journey, yet for years, I have heard about the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) and their main program Teaching Writing, Structure and Style (TWSS). My SisterL sings their praises and uses the program with her children as well. If you’ve been around my blog at all you know that we are fans of the Memoria Press Classical Core Curriculum and more recently MP has recommended IEW Bible Heroes Writing Lessons in Structure and Style during the Second Grade year and has even added in IEW Fun and Fascinating Writing Lessons in Structure and Style to the MP Third Grade Curriculum package.…

Well-Ordered Language: The Curious Child’s Guide to Grammar (WOL) {Review}
*After reading my review, you might want to check out the free homeschool guide for adapting the current version of WOL. You might recognize my words. 😉 Have you pondered over the Course Plan of Study in the front of the Classical Academic Press catalog and wondered what you should do for your grammar study? Sure, you could do that repetitive scripted wonderfully hand-holding one, or you could immerse yourself in the jingle heavy one that is confusing to get started. Why couldn’t CAP just have their own program to fill the grammar gap? Oh, wait they will! WOL or rather the Well-Ordered Language is the Curious Child’s Guide to…

America’s First Daughter {Excerpt}
. “Painstakingly researched, beautifully hewn, compulsively readable — this enlightening literary journey takes us from Monticello to revolutionary Paris to the Jefferson White House, revealing remarkable historical details, dark family secrets, and bringing to life the colorful cast of characters who conceived of our new nation. A must read.” (Allison Pataki, New York Times bestselling author of The Accidental Empress) AMERICA’S FIRST DAUGHTER EXCERPT Mr. Short’s Declaration “Patsy, will you allow me to walk you home?” Mr. Short asked. In that moment, I’d have gone anywhere with him. It didn’t matter that my feet ached from dancing or that I’d left my shawl upstairs, or even that my chaperone…

America’s First Daughter {Excerpt & 10 Things You Didn’t Know about America’s First Daughter}
America’s First Daughter Excerpt: And what of our future . . . ?” I asked. Mr. Short smiled. “If you could give up all thoughts of the convent, our future depends upon the orders your father is awaiting from America. Your father has asked that in his absence, I be appointed in his place as chargé d’affaires with commensurate salary. If I receive such an appointment, then I can present myself to your father as a worthy suitor. Otherwise, I’m afraid he’ll consider me a wandering wastrel without employment.” “He would never!” Mr. Short chuckled mirthlessly. “You think not? I have in my possession a letter from your father lecturing me…

Royal Easter Story (The Princess Parables) by Jeanna Young & Jacqueline Johnson {Review}
From the popular Princess Parables series, an Easter story perfect for girls 4-8. My 4-year-old Princess loves the Princess Parables series. She doesn’t have a favorite, but she loves to read the books featuring each sister again and again. We love the picture books and the I Can Read! early readers also. Thus, this year, we are very thrilled to add another book to this series with A Royal Easter Story that tells a tale of tradition, of those lost that can be found on Easter and of how Jesus is available for all who Ask, Seek, and Knock. Featuring teaching of Luke 11:9-13 this is a perfect princess themed…

I'm a stay-at-home homeschooling mama of three littles and I have a confession to make. I detest going to the grocery store. Going to the store fills me with anxiety. Whether it's the price checking, the squealing offspring, the germs that I know are getting eaten off random surfaces, or many other things... it is not something I enjoy. Now wouldn't it be a wonderful solution if I could do that shopping online and get about a 40-50% savings on fresh food?! Oh!!! You can! Keep on reading for a neat opportunity dear reader... coupons, giveaways... mmm...
