Love Finds You in Poetry, Texas by Janice Hanna {Review Refresh}

*This post is updated with my new format. Originally posted in December 2009. Poetry is an interesting method of communication. It was amazing and good writing in my opinion to find poetry woven not only through out the prose of this story, but also into the metaphors and descriptions of a Christian life. God is the ultimate poet if only we would listen for the next stanza of our lives before jumping on our own. This book contained a great matchmaking and mis-matchmaking love story for the inhabitants of the town of Poetry, Texas and Janice Hanna was also able to weave historical elements of famous poets through out. As my first experience with a Love Finds You novel I was entirely pleased and look forward to reading more of them in the future. The love between the main characters was palpable and described very well in a realistic manner. . .

Fools Rush In (Weddings by Bella, #1) by Janice Thompson {Review Refresh}

 *This post is update with my new format. Originally posted in November 2009. Contemporary Romantic Comedy is the genre that author Janice Thompson’s new series Weddings by Bella falls within and boy does she know how to write it well. “Fools Rush In”, book #1 is a heart beating, goosebump raising, giggles under cover read. I was able to read this in less a day, which considering my teething, growth spurt experiencing, 3 month old daughter is quite the feat. *wink* Bella Rossi is a New Jersey Italian relocated with her whole family to the shores of Galveston, Texas and she never envisioned falling for a true to earth eastern Texan cowboy, but that might just be what God has in store. The pages of this novel are grin cracking fun. I was amused by so many segments that I would re-read them aloud to my husband. If you are. . .

Queen of the Waves by Janice Thompson {Review Refresh}

*This post is updated with my new format. Original posted in 2013. Be it contemporary Texas or historical atmosphere Janice’s books are witty. Full of entertainment through out the characters are lovable and stick with a reader. The seemingly perfect women on the page bear all with their thoughts and many a reader may find a relevant heart. Janice’s stories would all make great movies full of calm and wonderfully appropriate romance. I think those in the Club Wed scene would get along well with Rachel Hauck’s low country Carolina series characters.

The Icing on the Cake (Weddings by Design, #2) by Janice Thompson {Review Refresh}

*This post is updated with my new format on April 29, 2015. Originally posted in 2013. The Icing on the Cake by Janice Thompson is a read I needed just right when I had it available to read. As I sit here on the couch attempting by pen and paper to write this review which I will later type I wonder if it is a good time or if the anesthesia has fully worn off yet as I just misspelled icing… Life can be so complicated sometimes and a great past time or distraction may often be found on my bookshelf. This weekend (August 29th) it was found and filled by Janice Thompson first as I returned to the world of wedding organization in Galveston, Texas. This time in the second book of the Weddings by Design series also related to two previous trilogies of Weddings by Bella followed by. . .

It Had to Be You (Weddings by Bella, #3) by Janice Thompson

*This post is updated with my new format on April 29, 2015. In November of last year I was introduced to Janice Thompson through her Weddings by Bella series starting with Fools Rush In. Knowing that contemporary fiction is not normally my genre, I was hesitant, but I dove in and was not disappointed. I am simply enthralled by the fun nature of Janice’s stories and could not wait for more. In February I was able to continue enjoying this series and Janice’s writing in Swinging on a Star. My love for the characters and genre have since grown and I could not hardly wait for more in the final episode of this Weddings by Bella trilogy in It Had to Be You. I have to also add that I also enjoy Janice’s writing voice in historical fiction as well such as her Summerside Press title Love Finds You in. . .
