If You Were Me and Lived in… series by Carole P. Roman returns for more education on the blog {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.   During our homeschool years, I have been eagerly building a home library full of interesting books to captivate my children’s imagination and teach them. We are trying to create life-long learners and one of my favorite methods is to use books to open up a world they have never seen before and this is fun to do with the use of a book series such as the If You Were Me and Lived in… series…

Boxcar Classics: The Boxcar Children is available even for the earliest readers! {Review}
When I was a kid, I remember reading The Boxcar Children, I recall there were dozens of books in the series and reading and collecting series books always excited me. Right now, I have a ten-year-old that is well versed in every Boxcar Children book she can get her hands on who loves adventure stories, an eight-year-old who is a budding reader that is skeptical when a book doesn't contain a princess or ghost story, and a new phonetical reader on the cusp of his own journey into beginner books. The Boxcar Children fits all of them!

Thomas Edison (YWAM Publishing) Biography {Review}
Over the last several years, we have really been working on building our biography library for my budding Memoria ScholĂ© Academy scholars and a big part of that has been adding to our YWAM Publishing collection. Through the blessing of the Homeschool Review Crew, this spring we were able to open up our studies and launch into a bit of a science unit with Thomas Edison from the Heroes of History series. In addition to being sent a physical paperback copy of the Thomas Edison: Inspiration and Hard Work biography, we also were given digital access to download Unit Study materials from the YWAM website. I then put our eBook…

Fix It! Grammar The Nose Tree (IEW Grammar Curriculum) {Review}
As I sat down and asked my girls, “Tell me about the Fix It! Grammar Curriculum,” my daughter looked at me, grinned and said, “I like it!” My middle daughter said, “It is nice and fun to do.” In our family, and little Memoria Schole Academy homeschool, we really love the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW)and I have found myself consistently adding more of their programs and products to our homeschool shelves in many different subjects. Fix It! Grammar: The Nose Tree Book 1is just the latest of our additions.

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women (Zondervan) {Review}
devotions for young women I will admit that one thing I look forward to as the new year turns around is not a diet plan or resolutions but starting a new planner and devotional. For the last several weeks, my oldest daughter and I have been blessed with the opportunity to spend time dwelling within the pages of this gorgeous hand-sized hardcover with satin ribbon devotional. These 371 pages in Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women contain 365 devotionals to take you through the year from Zondervan. At first, AppleBlossom found herself set on not starting until the new year, but I convinced her that wouldn’t go over very well…

The Josefina Story Quilt Literature Study Guide (Progeny Press) {Review}
You have probably seen my mentions before, after all this is a book blog, that I love reading with my kids and want them to grow into voracious readers and life-long learners. So far, I do have one very enthusiastic reader, but we need to work on her comprehension skills and something value I enjoy are the Study Guides from Progeny Press, such as or latest acquisition: The Josefina Story Quilt – eGuide. My oldest daughter loves to read, but she often zooms through a read and moves on to the next thing without much deep thought. Or there are the few reads, where she will read it about twelve times through.…

Math Refresher for Adults (Math Essentials) {Review}
Last year, I heard about a book like wildfire that was appearing everywhere in the homeschool circles that was the best thing for teaching reluctant math algebra skills called No-Nonsense Algebra. When I heard that a review slot was open for the publisher Math Essentials and their new book called Math Refresher for Adults. I knew I needed to sign myself up as it was a perfect fit for me. My desire was to use this book personally to try to stay ahead of my daughter in her math as she is building upon her arithmetic skills that I have been years out of practice. This is actually perfect timing as she…

The Master and His Apprentices: Art History from a Christian Perspective {Review}
Earlier this year, I heard a mention of a new Art History curriculum and this intrigued me. I had never heard of The Master and His Apprentices before this year and was skeptical but curious until we had the opportunity to review The Master and His Apprentices: Art History from a Christian Perspective. For the purposes of this review, I was blessed with a digital copy of the Teacher Guide and the Textbook. The program is also available in physical hardcover copies, I believe. A full high school credit can be earned by a student using this material at the rate of about one chapter per week. For the purposes of…

Hake/Saxon Grammar & Writing 3 (Hake Publishing) {Review}
Grammar. Grammar. Just the word makes me shudder just a bit. Today, I want to tell you about something that soothes this mama-fear with a brand-new program from Hake Publishing known as Hake/Saxon Grammar and Writing 3. Personally, I am just terrible at grammar, it just doesn’t stick or make sense for me and I am constantly trying to learn more every day. This is a fear that I do not want to instill in my child learners. So, I’m fully open to recommendations of how to teach grammar thus, I was over-the-moon pleased to be blessed with the opportunity to review the brand-new, earliest level of Hake/Saxon Grammar and Writing 3. RELATED:…

Artistic Pursuits: Art of the Middle Ages (Art Lessons) {Review}
I still remember talking to my veteran homeschooling mama SisterL before venturing out to my first homeschool expo and she told me to look for the booth for ARTistic Pursuits Inc. as even then, we knew we wanted it to be a part of our curricula plan. Over the past few years, I have been blessed to add aspects of the program into our homeschool life and most recently we have discovered the newest of releases from ARTistic Pursuits with their newly published hardcover editions. For the purposes of this review, we were sent a hardcover copy of Art of the Middle Ages in the new format of ARTistic Pursuits…

Homeschool Human Anatomy & Physiology (Apologia Human Body for Elementary Grades) {Review}
There are a few curricula that I have known for years will be my choice once my children get to a particular point in their learning journey since before my offspring were born. I’ve been plotting this journey since 2007 and now living in it. Apologia Exploring Creation Young Explorer series is one of those things. Two year ago, we started in on the new second edition of Astronomy and loved every minute of our adventure. Now, we are delightedly journeying through Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology and this teacher/book relationship is pure bliss. We are learning so much about the human body for elementary grades in this…
