Flights of Fancy (American Heiresses) by Jen Turano {Review}
If you have been following my reviews in the Christian Historical Fiction genre for a while, you may have noticed that I do not have the time to read quite the quantity of books that I once had. Therefore, the quality of books I read is important to me. It has been a while that I have read a book that I found to be delightful from cover to cover and Jen Turano does not disappoint. The characters are clever and the witty banter kept me amused and turning one page after another. Every single book that I have read from Jen make me excited to go back and read…

The Thorn Bearer (Penned in Time) by Pepper D. Basham
Ashleigh must choose between the forgiveness of her past, life in the present, and a Savior who can rescue her from them all. Last fall you may have seen other bloggers on the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance participate in a blog tour for the first in a long-awaited novel from author Pepper D. Basham. I signed up for the tour, but through a glitch it was an extended period of time before I got my hands on a copy of the book, but at long last it arrived. (You can also get it on Kindle for less than $4 last I checked!) If you would like to read the first…

When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke {Review}
This is my first experience with Janette Oke, which had a lot riding on it because of the recommendations from my sister-in-law as well as the making of the movies, etc. I was pleased. It was a quick and enjoyable read. At first I did not like how it was written as a Dear so-and-so letter perspective, but I think that it works well, as if it is Elizabeth telling you the story, as to children or a friend. Love, patience, and waiting for God’s will not your own are very valuable lessons learned here, as well as to get out of your comfort zone to see what he has…

Far in the Wilds (eNovella) by Deanna Raybourn {Review}
Last night I finished reading Far in the Wilds, the prequel novel to A Spear of Summer Grass. A few years ago I started to read ASoSG but was turned off by the over sexual nature of the story. After recently reading A Curious Beginning, I decided I would give this saga another try because I do so enjoy Deanna Raybourn‘s writing. This week I started reading ASoSG again and when I came across the introduction of the character Ryder, I decided I wanted a little background on his story. So I hiatus ASoSG and picked up FitW. Far in the Wilds was a great read. I got it when it…

Coming Soon to the Pen, Please Welcome Debut Historical Author Dawn Crandall!
I've been in love with history for as long as I can remember. I decided to choose The Gilded Age as the setting for my books, it had a lot to do the dresses of the time period, the neighborhood of Back Bay in Boston, and the way the elitists of the time would flock to the coastal towns of New England for the summers.
