Horizons Spelling & Vocabulary 2nd Grade {Review}
Our 2015-2016 year is the first year where we really are adding in the subject Spelling. We have been blessed with the opportunity to review Horizons 2nd Grade Spelling & Vocabulary Set and what a blessing it has turned out to be! Horizons is one of several imprints from Alpha Omega Publications ~ (http://aophomeschooling.com/TOS) and one I’ve been drooling over since I discovered them at an expo conference a few years ago. I am so delighted to get this curriculum in hand and it has been an incredible few weeks as we have delved deeper and really started a study on Spelling & Vocabulary for my AppleBlossom. Alpha Omega had…

2015-2016 Curriculum Choices (Looking Forward)
This is post that I have honestly been scared to write as I dread the judgement. Okay, so seriously I don’t have a large commenting base on my blog, but I know from numbers and interactions along down the line that people are seeing what I write. It’s here, in email, and feeds through social networks and what-not. But even though I’m sure you’ll probably read this and go on with your day, I still fear the judgement and the “crazy woman” thoughts you’re most likely sending my way. Alas. Yesterday I talked about looking back at our year and what we did. For a large part of things, they…

2014-2015 Curriculum Thoughts (Looking Back)
This has been a hectic year. This has been an amazing year. I had a baby. I blogged books, quilts, cross stitch, and homeschool stuff. I also taught a combination of Tot School and K5/1st Grade. I found some new things to love, and I discovered some things that just weren’t an appropriate fit. Love! (Backlinks of joy) Memoria Press First Grade (Advice) Memoria Press First Start Reading (Phonics) Memoria Press Kindergarten (Series) Creative Madness Mama Blossom School on a Normal Day Logic of English Foundations Lightning Literature 2014-2015 Wrap Up Blog Hop Landing Page (Visit other bloggers!) Last year, the curriculum that I chose was suppose to take AppleBlossom…

Real-Life Homeschool in a normal day
If you’re just joining in, you might wish to go read my first two posts about Real-Life Homeschool in the Creative Madness Mama Blossom School. On Day 1 I talked about a general hour by hour what’s up schedule, and on Day 2 I shared a library day. Some how I blinked and Wednesday and Thursday were past, but then that’s life around here. Let me think, Wednesday was our first attempt a unit study day and Thursday was a normal day. Today is going to be a 3Rs and unit study day. So… What is a normal or average day for us? (Now this makes me feel like…

Memoria Press Kindergarten {Review – Part VI – My Conclusion and Final Thoughts}
Hello friends! As of January 2019, I have an affiliate account with Memoria Press. If you’re here, you know how passionate I am about Memoria Press. Please bless my family by using our links. In final thoughts, I can tell you as a whole I love what Memoria Press is doing with their curriculum and lesson plans. Almost as it is written it is perfect for my oldest student and I’m becoming eager to watch my next child start to get into the plans as well. I miss the Devotional and Prayer time in the Lesson Plans like we experienced with Junior Kindergarten. Yes there is a weekly Bible…

Memoria Press Kindergarten {Review – Part V – Enrichment}
Hello friends! As of January 2019, I have an affiliate account with Memoria Press. If you’re here, you know how passionate I am about Memoria Press. Please bless my family by using our links. The last portion of the Classical Core Curriculum for Kindergarten Lesson Plans for One Year and package is my absolute favorite. Even if you are happy with your phonics, math, and copywork elsewhere you cannot beat Memoria Press’ new Enrichment Guide books. In the main Lesson Plans, you are provided with the schedule for a read-aloud book for the week on Monday, music and art for Tuesday, poetry on Wednesday, history and culture (aka social studies and…

After math comes… Copybook & Memory and this contains a Bible story from the Golden Children’s Bible and use of the Memoria Press Copybook I. It is laid out to read the story on Monday, Language Lesson and memorization of the relevant scripture on Tuesday. Copy and trace the verse on Wednesday with sometimes some math practice pages thrown into the practice those numbers on…

Memoria Press Kindergarten {Review – Part III – Mathematics or Arithmetic}
Hello friends! As of January 2019, I have an affiliate account with Memoria Press. If you’re here, you know how passionate I am about Memoria Press. Please bless my family by using our links. Next on our schedule I believe, is Mathematics. Going in, I knew our year with Memoria Press Kindergarten would be great, but I didn’t know what parts were going to help add up to that greatness. One of my biggest surprises was in the math department. The full curriculum package provided by Memoria Press for their Kindergarten Classical Core Curriculum utilizes not only the Numbers Books series from Memoria Press, but also Rod & Staff Beginning Arithmetic…

PreK3 Curriculum for 2014-2015
Hello friends! As of January 2019, I have an affiliate account with Memoria Press. If you’re here, you know how passionate I am about Memoria Press. Please bless my family by using our links. Having just finished drafting my post for the K5 Curriculum (even if it is six months late!) I figured perhaps I should also write a post for our PreK3 Curriculum this year as well. As my second child is entering into the world of academia I am learning some important lessons. While AppleBlossom was ready to jump and run early on and loves workbooks and “doing school” things… her sister is, well… a free spirit. OrangeBlossom…

K5 Curriculum for 2014-2015
5 Year Old Kindergarten 2014-2015 *This post is so tardy! I’ve had it drafted and saved in my folder waiting for me to edit it and add pictures for so many months now, but alas. Yet now, as my bouncing baby boy is six months old! It’s time for me to catch up…* Two years now has brought our family such blessings through our experience with Junior Kindergarten and then Kindergarten (review in progress) through Memoria Press so we decided first on our list was to continue with the First Grade materials, even if we slowed it to a two year pace considering her younger age. We have just finished…

Wizzy Gizmo New Testament cards!
Miss me? I know I’ve been a bit remiss. I keep thinking of things to blog, but the matter of just getting to the computer lately has been a bit hectic. With a newborn in my arms, as well as my computer crashing – and I just don’t want to face that. Anyhoo… Today I want to tell you about a new review that is totally cool! One of the things that is completely fabulous about the TOS Review Crew is the opportunity to meet new companies and learn about products previously unknown to me, such as Wizzy Gizmo. Say what? Wizzy Gizmo ~ (http://www.wizzygizmo.com) Nifty name ‘eh? Well, Wizzy Gizmo has quite…
