The two volumes of this unforgettable New York Times bestselling series from beloved author Francine Rivers are now available in a softcover boxed set. Her Mother’s Hope and Her Daughter’s Dream tell the story of four generations of women in one family who are all searching for their God-given place in the world. A rich and moving epic, the series spans decades and continents to explore not only the sacrifices mothers make for their daughters but also the very nature of unconditional love.
The story of two women, centuries apart, who are joined through a tattered journal as they contend with God, husbands – and even themselves – until they fall into the arms of the one who loves them unconditionally. When Sierra discovers the handcrafted quilt and journal of her ancestor Mary Catherine Murray, she finds that their lives are amazingly similar. Though the women are separated by time and circumstance and Mary Catherine endured the hardships of life on the Oregon Trail, many of the issues and problems they face are remarkably similar. By following Mary Catherine’s example, Sierra learns to surrender to God’s sovereignty and unconditional love.
I just ordered a copy of this and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
In the beginning of October I toured this book without a real review, but now… finally I have a light review for you.
In the dramatic conclusion to the New York Times best seller Her Mother’s Hope, Francine Rivers delivers a rich and deeply moving story about the silent sorrows that can tear a family apart and the grace and forgiveness that can heal even the deepest wounds.

As a fan of author Francine Rivers best selling novel Redeeming Love I was excited to learn that she was coming out with a new long book. I mean five hundred pages long. It is not often that you can find good epic novels these days and I was eager for this first book in a two book series. In reading Her Mother’s Hope I was not disappointed.

Sold into prostitution as a child, she survives by keeping her hatred alive. And what she hates most are the men who use her, leaving her empty and dead inside. Then she meets Michael Hosea. A man who seeks his Father’s heart in everything, Michael obeys God’s call to marry Angel and to love her unconditionally. Slowly, day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation, until despite her resistance, her frozen heart begins to thaw. But with her unexpected softening come overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. And so Angel runs. The Last Sin Eater by Francine Rivers My review rating: 5 of 5 starsFirst off, to be honest, this is a review of the story through watching the film. I had purchased the book, the newest edition that shows that it is now a “feature film” and my husband saw it and rented it for me. His mistake, now he must go buy it! This story is incredible! (And yet, I find myself saying this often when I read something written by Francine Rivers.) Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, much like the story of Christy, the mountain people live fascinating lives, continuing their traditions from their ancestors Welch land. One of the traditions that is continued on is that of the Sin Eater. It is the same sin eater tale that is told through that movie The Order, but so much more real to life. It is so hard,. . .

Today’s Wild Card author is: Francine Rivers and her book: A Voice in the Wind Tyndale House Publishers (March 1, 1998)(Re-released June 2008) My Thoughts: Francine Rivers is incredible. My first exposure to Christian Fiction was Liz Curtis Higgs who says this about A Voice in the Wind, “Francine redefined Christian fiction–honest, unflinching, powerful, life-changing–demonstrating why storytelling is the most effective way to communicate God’s truth. Every Christian novelist writing writing today owes a debt of gratitute to Francine Rivers for lighting the way.” – Liz Curtis. . .
