This past year, my love for the sewing needlework art of cross stitch has taken me by surprise and a powerful passion. While I have been stitching on and off since around the age of fourteen, when I made my first stamped cross stitch quilt… This year I have discovered all sorts of new techniques and challenges and I’m loving every minute with a thrilling excitement. At this point, I have started two HAED projects (long term, huge one over one designs of full coverage). I discovered Heaven and Earth Designs when I was looking to complete my seasonal fairies from a beloved artist Ruth Sanderson. I had started out with two Dimensions Kits of Fall Faerie and Woodland Enchantress. Right now, I have one completed page of four finished on the fall faerie and the woodland enchantress is completely stitched except for a bit of backstitching and beads. I. . .
Crazy times, ‘eh? Well! My email inboxes are exploding and apparently are incapable of being tamed, but I’m trying! We went on a family vacation to a South Carolina beach and the kiddos all go to be introduced to the ocean and the concept of waves for the first time. That was fun and a good distraction for physical and mental healing. I have been busy cross stitching and going for lots of distraction these days and honestly, I am getting better. Interestingly, I gained a bit of weight with this last pregnancy, but since it did not take the normal route it did not shed as quickly. So please, pray for me to figure that out. I’m hoping a little more seriousness with Trim Healthy Mama and South Beach Diet will help. *Some affiliate links included. I’m working on some children’s picture book reviews. I just finished an amazing. . .

Someone asked me what project I was currently working on. So I decided perhaps a gallery post would help both me and the curiosity of anyone wanting to know. Thus, my current projects and some I’m itching to start stitching! It is an interesting combination of things. Spring by Ruth Sanderson from Heaven and Earth Designs is my first HAED and my first experience with 25ct 1×1 full cross. Fall Faerie and Woodland Enchantress also both by Ruth Sanderson are my first full fabric projects. I plan to stitch Summer on 28ct to keep it the same design size as the other three, but after working a bit with 25ct, I think that is going to be quite the challenge at 28ct! Snow Queen is going to be my first experience stitching 1×2 so that will be neat, I think. The Fishing kit image is a finished piece I made for my dad.. . .
