Ahhh yes it’s that time of year again, snow flakes are flying and holiday preparations are in full swing. You know what that means right? it’s almost time for a New Year but before 2011 comes I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite CHF books of 2010. It’s always hard to choose just ten, especially this year since I have read so many terrific books. I tried to pick some of my favorite “5 star” books but I know there are some great ones that I missed. 🙂 Here are my picks in no particular order. Making Waves by Lorna Seilstad Wrangler in Petticoats by Mary Connealy Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz The Preacher’s Bride by Jody Hedlund A Hope Undaunted by Julie Lessman Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer She Walks in Beauty by Siri Mitchell Hearts Awakening by Delia Parr Sons of Thunder by Susan May Warren A Distant Melody. . .
Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer Review by Renee Chaw Just when I thought I couldn’t enjoy a book more than A Tailor-Made Bride, Head in the Clouds comes along and I devour all 350+ pages in a day. If you are a fan of romance, ranchers, and British nobility you will love this story. Not only that but if you like to be able to relate to a heroine I don’t think you will be able to find another quite like Adelaide Proctor (at least I can’t think of one!) Adelaide is on the lookout for her storybook hero (aren’t we all *wink*) and literally falls into the arms of a man who just might be her Mr. Rochester minus the crazy wife and “broodiness.” Gideon Westcott aka Lord Mansfield (well almost, he’s third in line for that title) formally of England is now a sheep rancher in. . .
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. This week’s pre-publication “can’t-wait-to-read” selection is: Instead of returning home after a humiliating breakup, Adelaide Proctor becomes the governess at a ranch where Gideon Westcott’s promise to a dying woman obliges him to raise 5-year-old Isabella. But when the girl’s evil uncle comes to claim her—and her inheritance—can Gideon and Adelaide put their growing attraction aside to protect her? 352 pages, softcover from Bethany. I know it is not available until October 2010, but I just love this cover of Head in the Clouds!! I’m also eagerly anticipating A Tailor-Made Bride in June 2010. But seriously, what female book lover could not love this cover?
