It was amazing and good writing in my opinion to find poetry woven not only through out the prose of this story, but also into the metaphors and descriptions of a Christian life. God is the ultimate poet if only we would listen for the next stanza of our lives before jumping on our own. This book contained a great matchmaking and mis-matchmaking love story for the inhabitants of the town of Poetry, Texas and Janice Hanna was also able to weave historical elements of famous poets through out. As my first experience with a Love Finds You novel I was entirely pleased and look forward to reading more of them in the future. The love between the main characters was palpable and described very well in a realistic manner. . .

Contemporary Romantic Comedy is the genre that author Janice Thompson’s new series Weddings by Bella falls within and boy does she know how to write it well. “Fools Rush In”, book #1 is a heart beating, goosebump raising, giggles under cover read. I was able to read this in less a day, which considering my teething, growth spurt experiencing, 3 month old daughter is quite the feat. *wink* Bella Rossi is a New Jersey Italian relocated with her whole family to the shores of Galveston, Texas and she never envisioned falling for a true to earth eastern Texan cowboy, but that might just be what God has in store. The pages of this novel are grin cracking fun. I was amused by so many segments that I would re-read them aloud to my husband. If you are. . .

As I sit here on the couch attempting by pen and paper to write this review which I will later type I wonder if it is a good time or if the anesthesia has fully worn off yet as I just misspelled icing… Life can be so complicated sometimes and a great past time or distraction may often be found on my bookshelf. This weekend (August 29th) it was found and filled by Janice Thompson first as I returned to the world of wedding organization in Galveston, Texas. This time in the second book of the Weddings by Design series also related to two previous trilogies of Weddings by Bella followed by. . .
Small-town girl Katie Fisher is planning her wedding. Sure, her boyfriend hasn’t managed to pop the question just yet, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t enter a contest in Texas Bride magazine to win the dress of her dreams, right? But when her boyfriend breaks up with her and takes a job in another town–the very same day Katie wins her dream dress–her world is turned upside down. Should she claim her prize? And will the hunky former pro-basketball player who runs the swanky Dallas bridal shop–yeah, you read that right–catch on to her humiliation if she does?
Janice Thompson designs a romance sure to delight, with plenty of fish-out-of-water moments, a hilarious supporting cast, and more of the wedding biz world her readers adore.
A seamstress at a swanky bridal boutique, Gabi Delgado dreams of doing more than ripping out seams and fitting dresses to doe-eyed brides. She wants to see her own dress designs gracing the young women of Texas. When Jordan Spencer, the editor of Texas Bride magazine visits the shop to do a feature, Gabi is devastated to lose her job in his very influential presence. Convinced she’ll never get her dreams off the ground now, Gabi needs lots of encouragement–especially from her friend Bella Neeley–to take a chance and start her business. And as she gets to know Jordan, she discovers that she may have to take a chance on love as well. Could it be that she’ll have to design her own wedding dress soon?
When I finished reading The Icing on the Cake I so enjoyed my adventure to Texas that I needed more of Janice’s writing so I snatched a book long overdue and started reading her Titanic historical novel, Queen of the Waves.
With contagious humor and a cast of quirky characters, Janice Thompson gives you crazy bridal-business drama, sweet romance, and a satisfying dose of laughter.

Note from Janice Hanna Thompson, author of LOVE ME TENDER: Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by to share in the excitement of LOVE ME TENDER, my latest inspirational romance. When I heard about the new “When I Fall in Love” line at Summerside, I flipped! Why? Because I love the ‘50s, and I love music! (The line is based on song titles from the 1930s to the 1970s.) I happen to be a playwright with a really fun musical comedy titled JOHNNY BE GOOD, a story that’s near and dear to my heart. I decided to put a twist on that stage play and turn it into a rockin’ romantic novel! With that in mind, I hope you enjoy this “Hollywood Heartthrob” interview with four of the main characters from the novel. Hollywood Heartthrob, “Man About Town” Column Welcome, readers! *This post is updated with my new format on April 29, 2015. In November of last year I was introduced to Janice Thompson through her Weddings by Bella series starting with Fools Rush In. Knowing that contemporary fiction is not normally my genre, I was hesitant, but I dove in and was not disappointed. I am simply enthralled by the fun nature of Janice’s stories and could not wait for more. In February I was able to continue enjoying this series and Janice’s writing in Swinging on a Star. My love for the characters and genre have since grown and I could not hardly wait for more in the final episode of this Weddings by Bella trilogy in It Had to Be You. I have to also add that I also enjoy Janice’s writing voice in historical fiction as well such as her Summerside Press title Love Finds You in. . .
In this latest release from Thompson, Bella Rossi’s life is nearing perfection. She’s got the perfect guy, she’s running a successful business, and she’s about to plan her most ambitious wedding yet, a Renaissance-themed fairy tale come true, complete with period costumes and foods, horse-drawn carriages, and even a castle. There’s just one hitch. The best man just happens to be Brock Benson, Hollywood’s hottest and most eligible bachelor. Oh, and did we mention he’s staying at the Rossi house to avoid the paparazzi?
