Millie’s Treasure (The Secret Lives of Will Tucker , #2) by Kathleen Y’Barbo {Preview}

Memphis 1890–Bookish heiress Millie Jean Cope is as clever as she is beautiful. Unfortunately, though adept at solving puzzles and cryptograms, she doesn’t realize her new fiancé isn’t who he claims to be, but instead is a charming scoundrel. The infamous Will Tucker is presenting himself as a British gentleman, Sir William Trueck, though in reality he is a crafty criminal looking for a hidden map to a secret treasure.

Pinkerton agent Kyle Russell has been on Tucker’s trail for years. At last Kyle believes he has Tucker cornered, but he is uncertain whether the lovely woman on the con man’s arm is an unsuspecting victim or willing accomplice. Finding reasons to spend time with Millie is easy. Keeping himself from falling in love with her is another issue entirely.
A fun and entertaining story of how God can shine the light of truth on the most cryptic circumstances.

Beloved Counterfeit by Kathleen Y’Barbo: a review

Beloved Counterfeit by Kathleen Y’Barbo When the less-than-reputable Ruby O’Shea washes up on the shores of Fairweather Key, she’s determined to bury her past and make a new life for herself and her three nieces. But doing so will entail secrecy and deception. Is that any way to start anew? When Micah Take, a wrecker, widoer and soon-to-be preacher, falls for Ruby, it seems a wedding is certain and her past uninportant. But as Ruby’s secrets are uncovered, Micah finds himself falling short of the grace of forgiveness. Will Micah abandon the heart that God has won? Or will he stand by his woman against all odds? My review rating: 4 of 5 starsWhen I was in college, I had a conversation with a friend about how I knew God had forgiven me for my sins, but for some things it would take me longer to forgive myself. He responded. . .

Beloved Castaway by Kathleen Y’Barbo: a review

Beloved Castaway by Kathleen Y’Barbo My review rating: 4 of 5 starsAs the way things turned out, I was able to read Beloved Captive, book #2 of the Fairweather Keys Series before I read this book #1. So, in starting the story I knew somewhat of what to expect with the plot and the outcome. However, that did not deny my experience even the tiniest bit. I still am shocked and amazed and the twists and turns the plot took through out. Especially, at the growth in which the characters were able to grow as individuals and persons in Christ. The story is about three women setting out to change a wrong. Each life is extremely different and the path taken is similar but unique. It is also a story about a man and his father learning about how forgiveness is a two-way street. Kathleen Y’Barbo is definite a treat. . .

Beloved Captive by Kathleen Y’Barbo: a review

Beloved Captive: Fairweather Keys Series #2 by Kathleen Y’Barbo My review rating: 5 of 5 starsAs my first book that I have read by Kathleen Y’Barbo I am quite the fan. From several author buddies, Kathleen’s books have been recommended and she has been called a great friend so I was excited when I was given the chance to review “Beloved Captive,” the second book in the Fairweather Keys series, even though I have not read the first. But after reading this one, I do believe I will go back to find the first as this was quite enjoyable. The title is absolutely perfect and captures the entire story. Characters are individually fabulous and entertaining. At first what I deemed to be a predictable story was actually full of unforeseeable twists and turns. Action and adventure with romance and pirates! What could be better?! A perfect vacation or weekend read. . .
