Memoria Press has revamped their website, and it looks awesome. Also if you’ve missed my mentions previously (and look for more to come soon!) check out their amazing Jr. K!
Chester and Wilson had their own way of doing things, and they did everything together. When they cut their sandwiches, it was always diagonally. When they rode their bikes, they always used had signals. If Chester was hungry, Wilson was too. They were two of a kind, and that’s the way it was – until indomitable Lilly, who had “her” own way of doing things, moved into the neighborhood.
Today we’re starting our second week of Memoria Press Jr. K and it is an interesting day. While the lesson plans are for two days a week we did activities in addition on other days last week to enhance the week and it was awesome. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to put this all together on my own. Starting out today was interesting… AppleBlossom refused to write anything. No tracing, that ended with a tossed pencil across the table. But finally she offered to trace it with her finger, and of course we did and many times. So we will try again either later today or tomorrow to trace it with a pencil. She has the grip down, but I think she is just wanting to do songs and activities. Which I totally get, and at her young preschool age is perfectly acceptable. We have been able to meet. . .

Today we finally had our first day of junior kindergarten using the Memoria Press curriculum and it was great! We’ve delayed things a bit as I was bargain shopping books and had to wait to get several of them as the delivery seem soo slow. Yet, that’s what happens when I’m indecisive and go for the free shipping options. 🙂 (I discovered that if something is less than 20% it is cheaper for me to get it through Barnes & Noble using an educator’s discount, but it if it is qualified for the 4-for-3 on Amazon then that ends up being a better deal by a few dollars.) If it’s over 20% on sale then it just depends on shipping and preference of which has the better bargain. In this case since I am talking about children’s books, most were not available on ChristianBook.com and RainbowResource, but those are my. . .
I know last year I was loving to look at all of the “Not” Back to School blog posts and maybe even the year before that. I love the idea of planning and figuring out what all we are going to attempt. Last year was just fun and randomness for education. This year is going to be similar but with a little more effort on more often and a little more structure. After all, my baby is three. 😉 Now this year I participate! There are so many options! If you find me in some forums, right now you’ll see my signature line say something like this: Margaret of Georgia, now in TN – Enginerd’s wife and Mama www.CreativeMadnessMama.com “You can never get a cup of tea large enough, or a book long enough to suit me.” -C.S.
