Food, Inc. 2008 PG 94 minutes Drawing on Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation and Michael Pollan’s The Omnivore’s Dilemma, director Robert Kenner’s Oscar-nominated documentary explores the food industry’s detrimental effects on our health and environment. Kenner spotlights the men and women who are working to reform an industry rife with monopolies, questionable interpretations of laws and subsidies, political ties and rising rates of E. coli outbreaks. This morning I was clicking through my Instant View on Netflix as saw a documentary called Food, Inc. Since I was working on some posts I decided to let it play in the background. Wow. What a video and close to my heart as I have been trying and struggling a bit since AppleBlossom was born with getting healthy versus saving money. I do remember when I saw a wholistic doctor a few years back talking about the decision on where to spend money. . .
