After a Fashion (A Class of Their Own) by Jen Turano {Review}
The first in the new ‘A Class of Their Own’ series If you read my post about reasons to read an e-novella then you know how I first discovered Jen Turano was through a freebie that I stumbled upon and I knew immediately that I had found a new favorite author. Since then I have been delighted with all the stories in the Ladies of Distinction series and now I’m finding myself to have the same opinion of the A Class of Their Own series. Through a fluke I actually was able to read In Good Company (my review), the second in the Class of Their Own series before I…

In Good Company (A Class of their Own) by Jen Turano {Review}
This is my current nightly indulgence read and I’ve found I’ve missed a few Turano books as well. Jen Turano is an author that makes me smile and I just delight in falling between the pages of her creatively witty stories set in the regal 1880s New York. These feminist creatures are intelligent and fun and I’d love to know them in person, but on the page is the second best. I cannot wait to see what happens next and then head back to catch the stories I’ve missed. *This post was originally published on July 9, 2015. I am updating it now with a finished reading status and review.…

A Most Peculiar Circumstance (Ladies of Distinction) by Jen Turano {Review}
In November 2012, I was given the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance Best Tour Review for the first Ladies of Distinction novel and prequel from Jen Turano in A Change of Fortune and Gentlemen of Her Dreams. You might want to see that review, back here. I have been long awaiting to read Arabella’s story with her own P.I. 😉 This particular book had the issue of being published at the same time as I had a small tragedy in my own life and thus I was delayed in being able to read the story. However, once I finally delved in I was pleased and amusing as always with the…

The Wood’s Edge by Lori Benton {Preview}
*Apologies first. I cannot believe my first Christian Fiction Blog Alliance participation in a while and I totally missed the tour dates! I guess I do have the excuse of spending Monday in the pediatric emergency room and then the rest of the week tending to stomach virus family. But, alas… I should have had things done and ready to post before hand! I’m sorry! Lori’s first well-reviewed novel, Burning Sky, was named a top pick of 2013 by Romantic Times and has recently been named a finalist for the ECPA Christian Book of the Year Awards in the fiction category, and earned her two Christy Award nominations. Her second…

Coming Soon from the Pen, Please Welcome Author Cindy Thomson!
When I was preparing this post, I was planning to link back to my review of Grace’s Pictures, An Ellis Island Novel #1 that I read in July 2013 and loved beginning to end. I was surprised to discover while that review is prominently on my Goodreads shelf it seems to have either disappeared or never quite made it to my blog. But then, that was a drastic summer (surgery and all). Now I’m delighted to post that review as well as this brand new interview with Cindy to entice you to the entire series! What made you interested in writing Christian Historical Fiction? Do you write any other genres?…

A Most Peculiar Circumstance (Ladies of Distinction) by Jen Turano
Miss Arabella Beckett has one driving passion: to help the downtrodden women of America. Naturally, she supports the women's suffrage movement and eagerly attends rallies and lectures across the country. On her travels, she makes a simple offer of assistance to a young woman in need that goes sadly awry and lands both ladies in more trouble than they can manage. An independent sort, Arabella is loath to admit she needs help and certainly doesn't need help from an arrogant, narrow-minded knight in shining armor.
