The Messenger (Review by Author Holly Weiss)
The publishing industry evidently shies away from books set in Revolutionary times. The inclusion of spy and Quaker elements in The Messenger tipped the industry’s scales, giving us a thought-provoking and entertaining read. The book forces us to determine in what situations spying is acceptable or admirable. Faced with the dilemma, would you choose a cause in which you believe strongly or your faith?

Coming Soon from the Pen: Please Welcome Historical Author Siri Mitchell
As I write my books, I often find my heroines at odds with the prevailing culture, usually in a desperate struggle to free themselves from some impossible situation. It’s that feeling that I always try to understand and explain. That desperation that I want to capture in my novels. How do they get into these situations? And why does the culture want to keep them there? As often as I tackle new eras and new topics in my historical fiction, I never fail to be amazed by two things: how different we are from our historical sisters…and just how similar we are as well. Though we’ve come so far in…

Motherless Clara dreams of going to Vassar College, but feels compelled to follow the prodding of her father and aunt to snag the heir to a fortune in order to rescue her family from ruin. A Constant Heart by Siri Mitchell: a thoughtful review
A Constant Heart by Siri L. Mitchell My review rating: 3 of 5 starsI give this book three out of five stars, but in a split manner. If I were to rate the book solely upon my enjoyment and escape into it’s historical aspects, it would be two stars; yet if I were to rate this book on the detail and descriptions of this historical journey at hand it would four stars. Thus, I settle at three. Starting out reading this book, I was quite distraught and not at all drawn in. The cover is gorgeous and the summary sounds interesting, but in the reading I was just not there.…
