Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers: Prayers for bedtime and every time of day! {Review}

On our shelves we have Max Lucado board books, a treasury, The Story for Little Ones, The Story for Children, and The Christmas Story for Children so I was delighted when I saw a gift-worthy treasury of prayers. Teaching our children poetry, and teaching them to pray is so valuable and a special part of our lives. This treasury is a beautiful tool to help do so. The Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers presents classic rhyming prayers and Lucado originals in a gorgeous presentation for any family to use. An excellent gift idea! Anyone with a young child will benefit so well from this book and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

8 months – baby sleep at night?

What is it with being eight months old? Both my girls slept through the night from about two weeks with dream nursing a couple times in their sleep. Then at eight months with AppleBlossom it was all over. She would sleep in my arms or next to me, but try to put her in the crib and she starts crying. Even in her sleep. She has never really slept well again beginning to end. She is now 32 months (I think – I’m sleepy.) Now OrangeBlossom is eight months old and it is happening again. Is it the teething? The confident fast crawling? The pulling to stand? Separation anxiety? What?!? I read all the books. No suggestions work. I also will not let them cry to sleep. The idea of that does not sit well with me. If one cries it will wake the other now too! Some people say. . .

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Lightweight Classic Crib Mattress and… an *extra review* of the 2-in-1 Ultra Crib Mattress

When we knew that we were going to have another child, some of the choices were made easily for us. We knew that we would want to buy a second convertible crib, since AppleBlossom will still be using hers in toddler format for a long while. We also knew that meant a new crib mattress. Knowing how satisfied we were when we purchased the Naturepedic Organic Cotton 2-in-1 Ultra Crib Mattress for AppleBlossom, I knew that I would not be compromised and would go there again.

Ten Sleepy Sheep by Phyllis Root & Susan Gaber

Outside in the farmyard, ten lively lambs would rather play than go to sleep. Off they scamper; off they skip. But the sun is sinking, the stars are twinkling, sleepy eyes can’t stay open, and one by one, ten drowsy sheep drop off to sleep in a cozy country countdown. With rhythmic, lyrical language and pastoral scenes of lambs drifting off wherever they may, author and artist blend the perfect potion to ease even spirited little ones into sweet dreams.

Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer

As I have discovered, not everything goes according to plan when you have a new baby in the house. In our example, a few months before AppleBlossom was born we discovered that the Enginerd was being laid off and then two months after she was born we were off moving from Georgia to Tennessee to start a new life and a new job at a fabulous company. It was only last month that we were able to finally sell our house in Georgia. During this time there was a lot of back and forth. Driving to the house in Georgia, my parents house, my brother’s house, the Enginerd’s parents house, the Enginerd’s sister’s house. Many of the times it seems the only chair that we could put AppleBlossom in was the carseat, and after hours driving that was not ideal. She needed something soft and playful. We were lucky to. . .

All Advice Welcome – Baby Sleep

I used to giggle a little to myself at two months and then four months of age for AppleBlossom when people would ask me, “Is she sleeping through the night yet?” She has been sleeping through the night since two weeks old! Yes when she was very newborn, she’d slightly wake, nurse and then go back out for another several hours. It was a very healthy situation for all of us. That is until she turned six months old. I do not know what happened. Nothing changed except she got a few teeth, then later an ear infection, but we are all miserable. She did not get the teeth until April, and the ear infection/yeast infection in May. Now she will not sleep through the night. She will not fall asleep alone anymore and it used to be no effort. It is only in the swing or on my chest. . .
