Picture Book Explorers: Paddington Bear (Branch Out World) {Review}
When I was first looking at the offerings from Branch Out World considering one of their Literature Studies about Paddington Bear, I simply assumed we would be working through the novel A Bear Called Paddington. Yet, I was mistaken, however, that is a part of it! We were actually working through the “picture book” Paddington Bear and luckily… I have them all. Do you remember “rowing a book” well now there are more options available to keep the adventure and memory making going with Picture Book Explorers from Branch Out World. Make sure to check them out. #hsreviews #homeschoolmama #paddington #amreading #readaloud from Instagram: https://ift.tt/2KRzvZ0 Picture Book Explorers As a family from the continental United…

Project Passport World History Study: the Middle Ages {Review}
*Note, I’m having technical difficulties with self-hosted pictures uploading. I am trying to link my photos from Flickr and hope this will temporarily resolve the issue. PDF documents were provided to different families for review purposes through the Homeschool Review Crew and adventures are to be had…

Geology and Apologetics (Northwest Treasures) {Review}
In my youth, I found myself fascinated with geology and had a pretty vast rock collection. Because I still love Geology I was very excited to have the opportunity to watch the introductory video Taking the Mystery Out of Geology and to have my rock and nature loving daughter work with me through the Geology and Apologetics online video class from Northwest Treasures. In our homeschool, right now we are still focusing on the basics of reading, writing, arithmetic and so on. However, every once in a while we spend a wealth of time on an elective or interest subject. One such interest subject is the learning love of my own youth in geology. We…

Smart Kidz Radio {Review}
Over three years ago, I first discovered Smart Kidz Media, while the use of the “z” still drives me nuts they are continuing to add new material and Smart Kidz Radio is their newest offering. In 2015, my daughter really enjoyed Smart Kidz Media Library and we were eager to see how we would enjoy the free online radio station for kids. RELATED: Smart Kidz Meda Library {Review} For the purposes of this review, we listened to Live Radio on various days and a few fairy tale podcasts. In the past, some of our favorite elements of Smart Kidz Media Library was the music listening options and fables so I just knew…

The Weather Strikes Again
I’m sure you are looking forward to reading Margaret’s review on Kid’sEmail.org. Â You will find it here just as soon as she gets her power back. Â The storms have knocked out power to many in the region. While the camping experience is fun, she looks forward to returning to you here (and turning on the lights and charging her phone…). Homeschool Human Anatomy & Physiology (Apologia Human Body for Elementary Grades) {Review}
There are a few curricula that I have known for years will be my choice once my children get to a particular point in their learning journey since before my offspring were born. I’ve been plotting this journey since 2007 and now living in it. Apologia Exploring Creation Young Explorer series is one of those things. Two year ago, we started in on the new second edition of Astronomy and loved every minute of our adventure. Now, we are delightedly journeying through Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology and this teacher/book relationship is pure bliss. We are learning so much about the human body for elementary grades in this…

If You Were Me and Lived in… by Carole P. Roman {Review}
Books are my passion. Living books bring our homeschool experience alive and I really enjoy bringing out the quality materials from Carole P. Roman. A few years ago, I first introduced the If You Were Me and Lived in… series by Carole P. Roman to the readers of Creative Madness Mama and we still use these books and look to add more to our collection today. Our enthusiasm for these stories has not dwindled. (Affiliate links to follow in this post.) This year the Homeschool Review Crew is reviewing Carole P. Roman books and collections and we were blessed to add three more titles to our collection including If You Were Me and…

Starfall Pre-k Curriculum & more (Online Learning) {Review}
Ever since I started homeschooling with littles, one of the names that have come up over and over as a recommendation for some online learning is the Starfall Education Foundation. This year with our interactions with the Homeschool Review Crew we were blessed to receive a one-year subscription to The Starfall Home Membership giving access for the whole family. Or rather in our case, from my youngest student using this as a pre-k curriculum at three-years-old through my middle daughter at six-years-old and even the eldest at eight-years-old is able to benefit. Technically, if you include the times they hold her up to witness it all, even my newest addition at…

Super Teacher Worksheets #Printables {Review}
Several years ago, I was introduced to Super Teacher Worksheets and I am delighted to again come to tell you just how helpful this Individual Membership website has been to my teaching this year. In 2015, you may have read my beginning opinions of this printables and worksheets website. In the depths of 2017, a good two years later I still love using this resource and it is one of my preferences. Once again, for the purposes of this review, I was blessed to receive a one-year individual membership added to my existing account. Generally, I have found myself looking for extra practice and using many pages as supplemental work.…

Let’s Go Geography {Review}
This year, we have changed things up a bit and I did not have a real geography study plan set out. When the opportunity to review Let’s Go Geography and their world geography Year 1 program came up I was delighted to accept for our family. For the purposes of this review, I was given access to a subscription of one year of geography studies. This year is the first year of three planned for a full curriculum to cover many of the countries of the world at about 26 countries per year.  My access is intended to be used by one teacher for my homeschool. I am using this program with two…

The Bears on Hemlock Mountain E-Guide (Progeny Press) {Review}
If you were to ask me what the one most important part of our homeschool day would be, I would not hesitate to respond with something along the line of books, our reading. We are absolutely a book and story loving family and Progeny Press ~ http://www.ProgenyPress.com) is one of the golden names for study guides. This year we have been blessed with the opportunity to review The Bears on Hemlock Mountain E-Guide (Grades 1-3) for use with my third grade daughter. My daughter already has gotten into reading other novels and short books by Alice Dagliesh and has started to read The Bears on Hemlock Mountain. In the past, we have also…

Phonics Museum iOS app {Review}
As you know, if you’ve been around here in the past few years, we love Veritas Press materials. The curricula they publish is well done and their first venture into an iOS app is very positive as you shall see in my review of the new Phonics Museum iOS app for iPad and iPhone. For the purposes of this review, we are using the iOS Phonics Museum App on an iPad 2. Related: Phonics Museum iOS App for Preschool Related: 2016-2017 Curriculum Choices During the 2016-2017 school year, we started with the Veritas Press Scholars Academy Kindergarten, with the inclusion of Veritas Press Phonics Museum Kindergarten. We went ahead got…

 Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 2 {Review}
Languages have always been something of a dream desire for me that has not gone too far, however, my oldest student seems to share this desire and is eager to start our adventures with the Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 2 Set from Greek ‘n’ Stuff! In my elementary school years, I had a bit of Spanish. While in middle school, I had a short Latin course. In high school, I studied French for years under the instruction of a French Canadian trained speaker. In college, I continued to study both French and Spanish. It was not until later years, that I really had a desire…

In the Reign of Terror from Heirloom Audio Productions {Review}
We are one entertained family! Heirloom Audio Productions has done it again with their latest adventure CD: In the Reign of Terror! We have listed to this story over and over again, as well as our other Henty adventures and are enjoying the journey. I definitely need to add more of this thematic education or unit study way of learning to our school days. My stash This makes the fourth disc added to my collection of Heirloom Audio Productions’ G.A. Henty novel dramatizations and we plan to keep adding to it. For the purposes of this review, we received a physical audio CD set and access to download digital components. One of my…

English on a Roll {Review}
English on a Roll, and no I do not mean sushi… One of the things that I am learning as more years progress is that sometimes we need a bit of help in an area, such as grammar, thus English on a Roll was very intriguing to this mama seeking any way to make it stick for my student. We were blessed to be sent an English Grammar Teaching Method Instructors’ Set (includes 40 cubes and one instructors’ manual) for English on a Roll. While the guide is written for classroom use, it is fairly easy to adjust in a homeschool setting. We also have special copyright permission to copy certain pages for…

Learn to R.E.A.D. Curriculum Notebook {Review}
My second student is a bit different than my first, reading is a challenge. She focuses more when things are hands-on (coloring) and vibrant (colorful) and my old reading primer of black and white discussion text just doesn’t cut it for her. The Learn to R.E.A.D. Curriculum Notebook (36-week Curriculum) from The Crafty Classroom, however, seems to be right up her desire path! Through the Homeschool Review Crew, we were blessed to receive a PDF download of both the Learn to R.E.A.D. Curriculum Notebook (700+ pages!) as well as the R.E.A.D. Review Pack (28 Early Readers that Correspond with R.E.A.D. Notebook) which I’m told can be used as a stand-alone product,…
