What’s up mama readers?

Can you say it’s been a long year? Yet, at the same time I’m having a hard time believing it is so near to the end of 2019 and I’m starting to plan for 2020. This year started with a horrid sinus infection from a tooth infection that took five months to accomplish treatment and a root canal even though I knew what it was as of December 26th last year. As soon as that was in the works to be taken care of and I thought that I would start back with forward progress on my health journey (I lost 57 lbs in 2018) we discovered we were pregnant with kiddo number five and son number two. Um, it only takes once folks… and when the Natural Family Planning book says to find “other ways” to say hello and goodbye to your traveling spouse, well ahem. We are delighted and looking forward to the any day arrival of this little mister (my Viking Dragon #adragonviking on Instagram) even if it was a bit of adjustment at the beginning of the year and put my other journey on hold.

In October, we went for our yearly trek to Georgia while the Enginerd went off fishing in Montana. On the ride home, we were struck with three kiddos with gastroenteritis which continued for the next week and a half and added a fourth victim. My husband is amazing people, especially when this extremely preggo woman cannot currently do it all. After things started to look upward, all four kiddos with their compromised immune systems from the stomach virus seemed to hit a brick wall with a double ear infection for one, croup for another, soon croup for a second and third victim (relapse!) and good solid cold viruses for all. A few scary croupy nights and after 16 days, this mama is so grateful for a break in the fog as reminent coughs are all that are left of such a nightmare of an October. I was thinking that I could end it with a bang and a new baby, but nope on to November!

Now, we are in November. While little dude is due Thanksgiving week, if you know me all my others were born from 35-38 weeks, fully cooked, and big babies. We have visited the hospital three different times thinking it was time, but things calmed down after a bit. So, now it is a waiting game and only time and God will tell as to when he will arrive. A general estimate as of last Friday on this gluten-free cookie is approximately 8 lbs 7 oz and he is gaining more than the 1/2 lb a week normality. As of today, we are 36+5, so any day will work for me and prayerfully all the hiccups that he is practice breathing with are really prepping him for his exit from womb-side. (AppleBlossom 37+3 = 8 lbs 2 oz, Princess 37+2 = 7 lbs 2 oz, Rascal 38 = 10 lbs, and Mermaid Warrior 35 = 8 lbs 6 oz)

We’ve been outta wack with school, but have had a progressive day today for all with lots of reading aloud. I really want and enjoy this reading aloud wagon and think it will be the best for this season. Even if Latin and Classical Studies get by the wayside… Today, we read from Sonlight P4/5 and BookShark Level 3 Introduction to American History, part 1. We also read King Midas and the Golden Touch for Memoria Press Simply Classical Level 4 Enrichment.

As for stitching, in Georgia I worked on a project that is a long term gift for my brother and since coming home I worked on it a bit more. Then I pulled out my annual Fall Faerie by Ruth Sanderson from Dimensions Gold Collection. I doubt I’ll finish her this year, but plan to put in a good deal on her as I can.
